Rice washing water possesses properties that clear heat, cool the blood, and remove dust and grime. For best results, ferment the rice washing water in a container for 2-3 days. When washing your hair, ensure the roots are fully immersed in the water. Gently massage your scalp with your fingers to allow the rice water to thoroughly nourish your hair. After rinsing with rice water, wash thoroughly with warm water. After cleansing hair with shampoo, apply the sediment from the rice water evenly throughout your hair. Wait five minutes before rinsing. Wrapping hair in plastic wrap during this step enhances effectiveness.
Many people wash hair with hot water followed by cold water, believing this shrinks pores and removes oil.Experts caution that while hot water is more effective at removing dirt, it severely damages the scalp. Rinsing with cold water afterward not only fails to remove excess oil but also leaves it trapped in the hair. Therefore, it's better to rinse oily hair with lukewarm water. This prevents excessive oil production without irritating the scalp, effectively controlling oiliness.
Pay close attention to the washing method: When rinsing rice daily, discard the first rinse water. Save the second rinse water, allow it to settle until clear, then use only the clear upper layer for washing. Rice water is particularly suitable for those with oily hair, as it effectively removes oil after use.
Crucially, never use freshly drawn rice washing water for shampooing. Its initial high pH level can adversely affect hair and potentially cause hair loss. Allow the water to settle for 3-5 days to neutralize its effects before use, ensuring no negative impact on the scalp.
