How can we use water dispensers safely and healthily?
First, avoid being tempted by low-priced water dispensers.When visiting stores or supermarkets, salespeople often promote low-cost water dispensers. However, these units often come with significant safety risks. Consumers should resist the temptation of low prices. Take a moment to consider: how can such low prices guarantee quality?
Before purchasing, ask the salesperson to place a full water barrel on the dispenser. Ensure the machine remains undamaged under the barrel's weight and pressure.The faucet should not drip when closed. When opened, water should flow freely, and bubbles should rise within the barrel. The drip tray should be easily removable, with no leaks at any connection points. All switches and controls should be responsive, accurate, and reliable. After powering on, all indicator lights should display normally.
Second, prioritize products with antibacterial features. Since illness can enter through the mouth, drinking water quality is critical. However, many water dispensers have potential contamination points at vent holes, material surfaces, and water outlets. When selecting a product, consumers should consult sales staff to confirm whether antibacterial design is incorporated.
Currently, some antibacterial-designed water dispensers incorporate a door at the water outlet to minimize contamination risks. Some models further integrate positive and negative ion sterilization technology within the door, reducing airborne dust and smoke contamination while inhibiting bacterial and viral growth inside the unit.
Third, establish a routine for regularly cleaning the water dispenser. Like any appliance, water dispensers accumulate grime over time. Typically, the base and water outlet are major accumulation points for dirt. Without periodic cleaning, these areas can become breeding grounds for bacteria and accumulate harmful substances like heavy metals.
