Sit on the floor with legs extended straight behind you. Lean back, supporting yourself with elbows and hands placed on hips (Figure A). Press your lower back into the floor and use abdominal strength to lift both legs to a 45-degree angle.Point your toes forward, keeping your feet and calves in a straight line. Keep your legs together and draw 12 circles clockwise, as shown in Figure (B), then 12 circles counterclockwise.
This exercise tones your abs and slims your legs.
Second Exercise:
Hold a 5-15 pound dumbbell in each hand. Support yourself on your right foot, with your left foot placed a few inches behind, as shown in Figure (A). Keep your back straight and hips tilted forward until your body is nearly parallel to the floor, with the dumbbells aligned with your shoulders, as shown in Figure (B). Return to the starting position to complete one repetition.Perform 12 repetitions, then switch legs.
This exercise targets excess fat in the abdomen, waist, hips, and legs.
Third Exercise:
Stand with feet turned out at a 45-degree angle, wider than hip-width apart. Squat down, as shown in Figure (A).From that position, step out to the left while maintaining the squat, as shown in Figure (B). Step back to the right to return to the starting position. Continue lateral stepping: take 10 steps to the right, then 10 steps to the left.
This exercise is highly effective for slimming the abdomen and legs.
Fourth Exercise:
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Hold two 5-15 pound dumbbells at shoulder height with palms facing forward, as shown in Figure (A). Keep knees slightly bent and body upright. Slowly bend at the hips until your upper body is parallel to the floor, as shown in Figure (B).Hold for 5 seconds, then return to starting position. This completes one repetition. Perform 8-10 repetitions.
This exercise targets both the lower and upper body.
Fifth Exercise:
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, hands at your sides. Lift your right knee until your thigh is parallel to the floor while simultaneously raising your hands together above your head, as shown in (A).Hold for 5 seconds, then slowly lower your right foot forward into a lunge position, as shown in Figure (B). Bring your left foot back to return to the starting stance. This completes one repetition. Perform 10-12 repetitions per leg.
This exercise not only works your abs and legs but also helps tone your arms.
Sixth Exercise:
Hold two 5-15 lb dumbbells at hip level. Place your right foot on a step with your knee bent at a 90-degree angle, as shown in Figure (A). From this position, step forward directly with your left foot onto the step and lower your body into a squat, holding for 2 seconds, as shown in Figure (B).Stand up and return to the starting position. Switch legs and repeat the exercise, performing 10-12 repetitions per leg.
This exercise helps slim the legs and tone the abdomen.
Seventh Exercise:
Lie face down on a bench with your legs hanging over the edge, as shown in Figure (A). Engage your abdominal muscles and lift both legs until your body forms a straight line, as shown in Figure (B).Hold for 5 seconds, then slowly lower your legs. Perform 10-15 repetitions.
This exercise targets the waist, hips, and legs.
Consistently performing these exercises 2-3 times per week on non-consecutive days, combined with a balanced diet, will slim your lower body. You'll soon be able to wear those skinny jeans with confidence. Persistence is key—give it a try!
