As we age, eyebrows may gradually droop into an inverted V-shape. Alternatively, unsatisfactory eyebrow shapes resulting from tattooing, or issues like blue or discolored eyebrows, can disrupt facial harmony and vitality.A brow lift surgically corrects eyebrow shape, removes failed tattooing, and addresses scarring from tattoo removal. Intradermal suturing ensures invisible results. So, how can infection be prevented after a brow lift?
How to Prevent Infection After a Brow Lift
1. Local swelling typically lasts 1–2 weeks post-surgery.It is recommended to take antibiotics for 3-5 days post-surgery to prevent infection, and apply topical antibiotic ointment to the incision. Avoid touching the wound with your hands for 7 days after the procedure. Keep the surgical site clean to prevent infection and avoid getting the incision wet. Refrain from consuming spicy or irritating foods. Significant swelling may occur in the early post-operative period but will gradually subside without requiring special treatment.Inflammatory reactions are rare post-surgery and are typically suture-related. Should they occur, antibiotics should be administered promptly. 2. During the brow lift procedure, muscles and tissues causing forehead wrinkles or drooping eyebrows are excised or trimmed. This smooths the forehead, elevates the eyebrows, minimizes glabellar lines, and enhances forehead skin smoothness. Sutures are removed 7 days post-surgery.A scar along the upper brow margin may be visible for 3 months post-surgery. This can be lightly concealed with eyebrow pencil. Generally, the scar fades or becomes less noticeable within 6 months after the procedure.
