Benefits: Reduces mercury levels in the body
Carrots are effective detoxifying foods. By binding with mercury ions in the body, they can significantly lower blood mercury levels and accelerate the excretion of mercury ions. The potassium succinate in carrots helps prevent vascular hardening and lower cholesterol.
The carotene in carrots eliminates free radicals that cause aging. Nutrients like B vitamins and vitamin C also moisturize the skin and combat aging. Women who consume carrots may also reduce their risk of ovarian cancer.
Preparation: Rinse beef, cut into chunks, and blanch in boiling water to remove blood; drain.Wash, peel, and cut carrots into chunks. Add to the pot with beef, bring to a boil over high heat, then add seasonings and simmer over medium heat until tender.
The high water content of algin in kelp forms a gel-like substance in the intestines, aiding to eliminate toxins, block absorption of heavy metals like lead and cadmium, and expel radioactive elements from the body. It also helps treat arteriosclerosis and prevents constipation and colon cancer.
Preparation: Cut duck into small pieces and kelp into squares. Boil duck and kelp in water, skim off scum, then add scallions, ginger, cooking wine, and Sichuan peppercorns. Simmer duck over medium heat until tender, season with salt, then plate.
Spinach with Dried Tofu
Benefits: Clears intestinal heat toxins
Spinach clears heat toxins from the digestive tract, prevents constipation, and promotes a radiant complexion. Its leaves contain insulin-like substances that stabilize blood sugar levels. Rich in vitamins, spinach prevents deficiency diseases like angular cheilitis and night blindness.
Spinach also contains abundant antioxidants that combat aging and promote cell proliferation. It activates brain function, enhances vitality, and prevents cognitive decline.
Preparation: Wash spinach, blanch in boiling water, drain, rinse under cold water, and chop finely. Finely chop dried tofu, stir-fry in 1 tablespoon oil until fragrant, add 1 teaspoon soy sauce, season, and set aside. Combine spinach and tofu, add seasonings, and mix well.
Black Fungus and Tofu Soup
Benefits: Clears blood heat toxins
Traditional Chinese medicine attributes black fungus, which grows in damp, shaded environments, with properties that replenish qi, invigorate blood circulation, cool the blood, and provide nourishment. It effectively eliminates heat toxins from the blood. The plant-based polysaccharides in black fungus possess strong absorptive properties, helping expel impurities trapped in the digestive system to cleanse the stomach and intestines.
Black fungus dissolves indigestible substances like grain husks, wood shavings, sand, and metal filings within the body. It also helps dissolve gallstones and kidney stones. Additionally, black fungus reduces blood clots and prevents thrombosis.
Preparation: Soak black fungus until softened, then rinse thoroughly. Slice tofu. Simmer both ingredients together in chicken broth with salt for 10 minutes before serving.
Vinegared Mung Bean Sprouts
Benefits: Neutralizes Hundreds of Toxins
Traditional Chinese medicine holds that mung beans counteract various toxins, aiding the body's elimination of harmful substances and promoting normal metabolism. They neutralize alcohol poisoning, wild mushroom toxins, arsenic poisoning, organophosphate pesticide poisoning, lead poisoning, mineral pigment poisoning, and rat poison poisoning. Mung beans also contain components that lower blood pressure and reduce blood lipids.
Consuming mung bean sprouts can treat night blindness caused by vitamin A deficiency, stomatitis and scrotal inflammation caused by vitamin B2 deficiency, and scurvy caused by vitamin C deficiency. The husks shed during sprouting, known as mung bean skins, possess properties that clear heat, detoxify, improve vision, and dispel cataracts.
Preparation: Rinse mung bean sprouts, blanch briefly in boiling water, then soak in cold water before draining. Fry Sichuan peppercorns in oil until charred, remove peppercorns, and stir-fry scallions in the oil. Add mung bean sprouts, salt, sugar, vinegar, and MSG, tossing briefly. Thicken with a wet starch slurry to finish.
Steamed Stuffed Old Pumpkin
Benefits: Eliminates heavy metals and pesticides from the body
Pumpkin consumption effectively prevents and treats hypertension, gallstones, diabetes, and other liver/kidney disorders, enhancing cellular regeneration in patients with weakened liver or kidney function.
The pectin abundant in pumpkin slows intestinal absorption of sugars and lipids while removing heavy metals and certain pesticides, offering anti-cancer and detoxifying effects. Pumpkin's rich cobalt content provides an essential trace element for insulin synthesis. It also neutralizes the mutagenic effects of carcinogenic nitrosamines.
Preparation: Bring water to a boil in a pot, add pumpkin chunks, and cook until 80% done. Remove, drain, coat with dry cornstarch, and arrange ham slices on top. Mix minced chicken with chopped Chinese chive flowers, ginger, salt, MSG, and cornstarch to form stuffing. Stuff the pumpkin and ham slices, then steam for 8 minutes.
Heat oil in a wok, add clear broth, season with salt, MSG, and sugar. Thicken with wet cornstarch slurry, drizzle with rendered chicken fat, then pour over the steamed stuffed pumpkin.
