Moreover, many are sold in large bags, making it easy to overeat.Additionally, potato chips contain food additives like leavening agents and flavor enhancers, as well as trans fats and excessive salt.
Egg Yolk Pastries: Contain little to no actual egg yolk, loaded with trans fats and additives.

Their salt content is also significant—a single sausage may exceed an adult's daily recommended salt intake. Additionally, the grilling process may produce carcinogens.
Fried Chicken & Chicken Nuggets: Deep-fried foods, high in calories and fat.
Fried chicken and chicken nuggets are quintessential high-calorie, high-fat foods, especially popular among children and adolescents. However, from both developmental and dietary perspectives, consumption of these items should be minimized or avoided. Moreover, many are prepared at small-scale processing points or by street vendors, where frying oils and raw materials may pose health risks.
"Crispy" sweets: Primarily flavored with artificial extracts, high in sugar and fat, low in nutrition.
Their crispy texture relies heavily on fats (including trans fats), sugar, and numerous additives. While high in calories and fat, they offer minimal nutritional value and should be consumed sparingly.Additionally, be cautious of high-fiber or whole-grain cookies that taste too good. While fiber cookies have a coarse texture, fiber is highly effective at absorbing fat. Adding sufficient oil naturally makes the cookies crispy and delicious, but this negates their health benefits.
Gummy candies (e.g., QQ candies): Lack nutrients and suppress appetite.
These contain no nutritional value, are high in sugar, packed with food additives, difficult to digest, and can easily reduce appetite. Additionally, children consuming gummy candies and jellies face choking hazards.
Jelly: Offers no nutritional value and contains sweeteners, artificial flavors, synthetic dyes, etc.
Potassium sorbate, citric acid, and carrageenan are the most commonly used additives. Excessive potassium sorbate intake can cause allergic reactions and impair children's calcium absorption.
Dried fruits and candied fruits: A collection of various sweeteners.
Common additives include citric acid, potassium sorbate, and sodium benzoate. Sodium benzoate can destroy vitamin B1 and impair children's calcium absorption.

Meat Blacklist
Undercooked Steak: Beware of beef tapeworm.
Beef should never be consumed raw or undercooked. Cattle harbor numerous zoonotic parasites and pathogens, with the beef tapeworm relying solely on humans as its final host. Steaks should be cooked to medium-rare or medium. Opt for expensive, specially prepared beef meant for raw consumption—the risk of tapeworm infection far outweighs any potential benefit. At minimum, ensure beef is cooked to well-done. Avoid dried beef jerky sold by street vendors.
Excessively red ham products: Beware of nitrites. Ham, sausage, bacon, and similar meat products should not naturally appear bright red. However, most manufacturers add nitrites during processing—both to impart color and to extend shelf life by inhibiting Clostridium botulinum from producing toxins (which can generate botulinum toxin, the most potent known neurotoxin under certain conditions).The redder the ham or other meat products appear, the higher the likely nitrite content. Opt for items with no nitrites listed in the ingredients.
Some grilled meats appear charred on the outside but remain undercooked inside, posing a risk of parasitic infections. Additionally, high-temperature grilling breaks down proteins in meat into compounds like heterocyclic amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are mutagenic and increase cancer risk.
Smoked meats like bacon and smoked liver are associated with significant polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon contamination during production, arising from incomplete fuel combustion. Many of these compounds exhibit varying degrees of carcinogenicity.
