All you need is a small bench or sturdy chair. Place your left foot firmly on the bench, keeping your upper body and right leg straight. Using your left leg, lift your entire body onto the bench while continuing to raise your right leg upward to its maximum height. Hold for 5 seconds, then lower both feet back to the ground. Alternate legs, repeating 15-20 times per side.
Double Lift
Start in a prone position with fists clenched, arms crossed over your forehead, legs spread apart, and toes touching. Simultaneously lift your upper and lower body upward, then return to the prone position. Repeat 10-15 times.
Superman Leg Squeeze with Ball
Adds an engaging challenge to the standard Superman pose.
Lie prone with head lifted, arms extended forward, legs apart, and a fitness ball squeezed between them. Simultaneously lift upper body and lower limbs, hold at peak position for 10 seconds, then lower. Repeat 10 times.
Kneeling Leg Lift
An elegant quadruped movement. Support yourself on elbows with spine straight and core engaged; knees on floor, legs together. Lift left leg until parallel to the ground, pointing toes upward and flexing the foot. Alternate legs for 15-20 repetitions each.
Prone Frog Pose
Support yourself on your abdomen and elbows, lift your upper body, rest your head on your clenched fists, and spread your legs with heels together. Simultaneously lift your upper body and legs upward. Repeat 20-30 times.
Ball Step Stretch
See if you can master balancing a fitness ball under your feet.
Lie flat with arms extended, legs straight, glutes engaged, and heels on the ball. While maintaining balance, slowly bend your knees until your feet rest flat on the ball. Hold for 5 seconds, then slowly return to the starting position. Repeat bending and straightening 10-15 times.
Ball Leg Lifts
This challenging move not only sculpts lower-body curves but also enhances coordination. Support yourself with straight arms on the floor, feet on the fitness ball. While maintaining balance, alternately lift each leg 10-12 times.
Squat Jumps
Build leg strength while burning significant calories.
Stand with feet apart, knees bent, hips lowered, upper body and arms straight. Raise arms overhead while powerfully jumping upward. Land and return to squat position. Perform 12 reps per set, rest 1 minute between sets, for a total of 3 sets.
Side Lunge with Resistance Band
Achieve a balanced silhouette with this lateral-strengthening move.
Lean your upper body slightly forward, clench your fists in front of your chest, and stand with feet apart. Secure a resistance band around your calves. As you squat down, pull the band to the left with your left leg, then return to the starting position. Repeat 20-30 times, then switch to the right leg and repeat 20-30 times.
Split Squat with Lowering
This targets glutes and inner thighs more effectively than standard squats. Keep upper body upright with hands on thighs, legs spread wide with toes turned out. Bend knees to lower to full depth, then use glutes to perform 10-15 small vertical movements before returning to start.
Back-Raised Squat
A true test for both legs and glutes.
Clasp hands in front, extend left leg backward with left toe on a bench, keeping right leg straight. Bend right knee to lower into a deep squat, then return to standing. Repeat 10-15 times before switching legs for another set.
Seated Leg Stretch
This exercise targets not only the legs but also the back.
Begin seated with your upper body leaning forward, hands supporting your weight on the floor. Keep your right leg bent in front and left leg extended behind. While maintaining balance, fully extend and bend your left leg. Repeat 15-20 times before switching legs and continuing.
Single-Leg Balance
Using a dumbbell in your preferred hand can increase intensity while aiding balance.
Stand upright with dumbbells held at your sides, legs straight and feet together. Lean forward until your torso is parallel to the floor, keeping arms vertical. Extend your right leg straight behind you until it's horizontal, then return to start. Alternate legs, repeating 12 times per side.
Dumbbell Squats
Squats specifically target back shaping, and holding dumbbells adds greater challenge.
Hold dumbbells in both hands with feet shoulder-width apart. Lean torso slightly forward, push hips back, bend knees, and lower deeply into a squat before rising. Perform 12-15 reps per set for 3 sets total.
Split Squats
Squatting with legs apart intensifies the stretch. Clasp hands in front of chest, stand with feet wide apart and toes turned out. Bend knees into a deep squat, then rise. Perform 12-15 reps per set, for 3 sets total.
Deep Lunges
Ready to push your limits?
Hold dumbbells at chest height with hands straight. Stand upright. Step left leg forward into a lunge, lowering body until left foot is directly over ball of foot. Bring right leg back to align with left, returning to standing position. Switch to right leg forward. Perform 12-15 reps per side for 3 sets.
