Yoga Poses for Waist Slimming
1. Standing Forward Bend
This seemingly simple pose offers a comprehensive stretch, engaging the back, arms, chest, abdomen, and legs for a full-body workout.Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Extend arms straight behind you, parallel to the floor, interlocking fingers.
Slowly bend forward, bringing chest toward legs. Raise hands from behind to directly overhead. Maintain an upright spine throughout, lowering torso as far as comfortably possible. Feel the stretch in your back. Draw your belly button toward your spine—avoid rounding your lower back. Notice your breath quickening.
Go as far as your body allows, hold for 5 breaths, then lower your hands and slowly stand upright—avoid any sudden movements. Repeat several times.
2. Leg Stretch
Fold the mat in half to create extra padding for your kneecaps. Kneel on your right knee, placing it on the mat about 20 cm from the wall. Extend your right foot straight, pointing the toes upward and pressing them against the wall.
Bend your left leg forward, pressing firmly with your left foot to lower your hips until you feel a stretch in your hip joint.
Place your left hand on your left thigh, cross your right arm over, keep your upper body straight, draw your belly in, and stretch your torso upward. Hold for 5 breaths, then slowly lower your leg. Repeat on the left side.
3. Plank with Leg Lift
Yoga for Weight Loss
The Plank with Leg Lift is a common pose that uses the upper body to lift the legs, offering significant stretching benefits for the entire body. Begin in a push-up position, then rotate your torso to the right, shifting your weight onto your right hand and right foot. While maintaining balance, slowly lift your left leg upward, aiming to grasp your left toes with your left hand. Don't force it if you can't reach. If you can smoothly bring your hand close, gradually lift your leg to its highest position. Hold for five breaths, then switch sides.
4. Leg Forward Bend
Though visually challenging, this pose is manageable. If balance is an issue, practice against a wall or seek assistance. Stand upright, then slowly bend forward until your hands touch the floor. Lift your left leg straight up without straining. Draw your abdomen inward, hold for five breaths, then switch to supporting on your left leg and repeat.
5. Stretching Method
Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, ensuring feet are not turned outward.
Inhale while raising both arms.
Exhale, bringing your right hand to rest on your right ear while placing your left hand on your left thigh. Your left arm may be bent or straightened according to your flexibility. Note that extending the left arm typically places significant pressure on the right side of your waist, increasing the difficulty. Stretch your body toward the left side.
Inhale, return to an upright standing position, and resume the starting posture. Repeat the sequence using your right arm.
