Welcoming a precious child is a joyous occasion, but new mothers often worry about how to reduce their postpartum belly. Women naturally prioritize their figure and appearance, and this is perfectly understandable. Many mothers share the common concern of how to shrink a belly that has stretched during pregnancy. After giving birth, mothers often notice their bellies are large and saggy, looking particularly unattractive. This causes significant concern. So, how can you reduce belly fat after childbirth?
How to Reduce Belly Fat After Childbirth
Dietary Adjustments
1. Subcutaneous fat causing excess weight and blood lipids can trigger serious cardiovascular diseases.Omental fat hangs like a large pouch beneath the stomach, where excess calories and fat accumulate, widening the waistline and causing a protruding lower abdomen. Adequate calcium intake can rapidly dissolve omental fat. Calcium absorption is most efficient at night, so supplementing before bed can help reduce belly fat.
2. Minimize overeating and excessive drinking; prioritize fiber-rich foods. Consume carbohydrates that promote bowel movements. Drink a glass of mineral water on an empty stomach in the morning, followed by fiber-rich yogurt to stimulate digestion. High-fiber foods include seaweed, cucumbers, corn, beans, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and apricots.
3. Eating dinner four hours before bedtime reduces weight gain. However, if you already have a belly, consider having dinner earlier—ideally before 6 PM—to allow your digestive system ample time to process and empty before sleep. This prevents fat accumulation in the abdominal area and promotes a flatter stomach.
4. Replacing calcium supplements with milk before bed is not wise. Milk contains high levels of protein and neutral fats. Since the body's metabolism slows down at night, these nutrients cannot be fully utilized and may instead contribute to a larger belly.
