Every woman hopes to have her own baby, but many of us are unable to fulfill this wish. Numerous studies indicate that common dietary misconceptions are also contributing factors to female infertility.Women who frequently work night shifts have higher rates of infertility. A British study indicates that night shifts may impair female fertility, with women regularly working nights showing significantly increased chances of infertility. Fertility specialists note that these findings require further confirmation and advise women of childbearing age not to resign from their jobs over this concern.
Researchers at the University of Southampton reached these conclusions after surveying over 100,000 adult women. Dr. Lyndon Stock, the pediatric specialist leading the study, presented at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology conference that compared to those working standard 9-to-5 shifts, women exclusively working night shifts faced an 80% greater difficulty conceiving. For those rotating between day and night shifts, the probability of failing to conceive within a year doubled.
Researchers found that all work patterns except regular daytime shifts increased the likelihood of menstrual cycle irregularities by 20% and raised the risk of miscarriage by approximately one-third after conception.
Fertility in this study refers to natural conception, not in vitro fertilization.
Increasing work pressure and accelerated lifestyles are driving more people into night shifts. Women seeking pregnancy should prioritize daytime work schedules. Additionally, avoid habits detrimental to fertility.
