Women are most concerned about their figure and skin condition. As the saying goes, "First impressions are made by the face." A woman's perfect figure can indeed enhance her charm, but poor skin quality can significantly diminish her appeal in others' eyes. For women who frequently work long hours in front of computers, facial concerns become even more pronounced. To achieve a healthy complexion and overcome issues like acne and dullness, consistent self-massage is essential.
Beyond regular facial massage, it's important to recognize that our hands contain numerous meridians and acupoints. Regularly massaging these points can help restore a radiant glow. The hands contain vital points like Laogong, Yuji, Shaofu, Hegu, and Shenmen, each corresponding to different organs. Regularly massaging and stimulating these points regulates internal organs and enhances skin health.
Laogong (PC8), located at the center of the palm where the middle finger tip rests when the fist is clenched, clears mental agitation and eliminates facial acne when stimulated. Stimulating Yuji (LI1) dispels dampness, dissipates heat, and moisturizes the skin for a luminous complexion. Shaofu (LU10), found where the little finger tip rests when the fist is clenched, disperses heart fire and promotes blood circulation for nourished skin. The Hegu point is situated in the depression between the first and second metacarpal bones on the back of the hand. Stimulating it can treat toothaches, headaches, acne, eye fatigue, and stroke symptoms. The Shenmen point is located at the wrist crease on the little finger side of the wrist-palm joint. Repeatedly massaging this area can relieve constipation, reduce irritability, and make the skin smooth and radiant.
To massage the palms, first wash hands thoroughly, apply a small amount of hand lotion, and rub hands together until warm. Locate the acupoints and apply moderate pressure to tender points, or rub in a clockwise direction for 5–10 minutes, 3–5 times daily. Alternatively, place a walnut or health ball in the palm and roll it back and forth to invigorate the mind and stimulate acupoints.Following the massage, drink an appropriate amount of plain water. Consistent practice over time can make one appear radiant and refreshed.
