Mengmeng can barely contain her excitement as Christmas approaches. To be honest, it's less about loving Christmas and more about loving the holiday break! Because during vacations, Mengmeng gets so much free time to share makeup and skincare tips with everyone, browse all your gorgeous posts, and feel like life is truly wonderful!
Today I'm sharing a subtle smoky eye look with a hint of punk and retro vibes!
Full makeup lineup:
【Base Makeup】
Baterfly All-in-One Skin-Loving Brightening Serum, L'Oréal Paris Infallible Glow Foundation.
【Shimmer & Color】
Jiela Boss Brow Pencil, Jiela Boss Eyeliner Pen, 88-Color Eyeshadow Palette, Jiela Boss Pointed Tip 4 & Transparent Seamless 202 False Lashes, Benefit Blush Water, Angel Magic Shimmer Eyeliner, Lancôme Lip Gloss, Mushroom Blush Moon.
Base Makeup:
Primer:
Primer not only enhances makeup luminosity but also creates a barrier between cosmetics and skin, preventing direct contact and protecting the complexion.
Burt's Bees All-in-One Brightening Serum. The serum texture resembles foundation but is less thick, with a slightly pinkish tint.It doesn't look overly thick, but upon application, it appears slightly white and startling—I genuinely worried it might look unnatural. However, once fully blended, the finish is incredibly natural with no artificial whiteness whatsoever. Its spreadability is exceptional.
Foundation:
L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24H Foundation. What makes this foundation beloved is its breathable feel—it never creates that suffocating, heavy sensation.
Its powder is fine and lightweight. A thin layer effortlessly conceals all imperfections.
Base makeup complete!
Eyebrow Shaping:
Mengmeng uses Maybelline Super Waterproof Twist-Up No-Shave Eyebrow Pencil. The powder is fine and lightweight—just a thin layer hides all imperfections. Base makeup complete! Eyebrow Drawing: Mengmeng uses the Lash Boss Ultra Waterproof Twist-Up Brow Gel Pencil. It has two ends: one is a pencil tip, the other a brow brush.
The flat tip of the pencil has a large contact area with the brows, allowing you to use it horizontally or vertically. It handles both bold brows and delicate arched brows with ease. The pencil's gel-like core applies color effortlessly and boasts excellent waterproof properties.
Finished brows might look slightly unnatural at first, but a few strokes with the built-in brow brush instantly makes them look lively and natural.
Eye Makeup:
Eyeliner:
The eyeliner pencil is also twist-up, just like the brow pencil—no sharpening needed, super convenient. It comes in five shades, and Mengmeng has one of each. The tips are soft and glide on easily. Mengmeng's skin can get oily, so her eye makeup often smudges—especially since she prefers natural inner eyeliner, which smudges easily. That's why waterproof, smudge-proof eyeliner is essential.
Start with the gold-black eyeliner. At this stage, don't extend the line yet. Wait until after applying eyeshadow to extend it later—ha ha.
The line glides on smoothly. Though not drawn in one continuous stroke, it feels effortless to apply—just a light touch deposits color.
For the lower lash line, use this bright silver-white shade to gently outline the contour.
Smoky Eye Look:
All the marked colors are for this look. I'm going for a subtle smoky effect, so I chose darker shades with a pop of golden orange.
Apply the five colors to the positions marked in the diagram.
After finishing the eye makeup, it actually looks pretty basic. The final secret weapon is the lashes—once you put them on, it instantly transforms!
Applying False Lashes:
The packaging is super princess-like! For the upper lashes, I used the pointed-tip 4; for the lower lashes, the transparent seamless 202. This is the first time Mengmeng has tried these full-strip lower lashes. The adhesive has just the right stickiness—it holds the lashes securely without being too stubborn to remove. Eye makeup remover or warm compresses take care of it effortlessly.
All set! The lower lashes look surprisingly natural, not as dramatic as I imagined. They feel incredibly real, no fake-looking vibe at all—perfect for everyday wear.
Add a touch of shimmery eyeliner once the base makeup is complete. Apply just a light layer—you don't need heavy glitter, just a subtle sparkle. A little goes a long way with this formula, haha. Finally, gently extend the liner slightly at the outer corners.
Lip & Cheek:
Start with Benefit's Blush in Rose Water. This dual-purpose product works as both lip gloss and blush—and the color is absolutely gorgeous!
>Next, apply Lancôme's Christmas limited edition Swarovski Diamond Kiss Shimmer Lip Gloss. This limited-edition formula is actually colorless but enhances lip luminosity, elevating both color and texture.
It creates that super-vibrant red lip effect—almost like a blood-red pout!hehe!
For blush, I chose the mushroom-inspired Moon shade—a super soft pink. Just a light sweep across the apples of your cheeks instantly makes them glow!
Before & After:
The finished look—those lashes are amazing!Haha, first time I've come across such fantastic lashes! The overall look is pretty basic, but now it's time to transform into punk retro style.
To nail the look, I went all out—girls, check out the results! Click, click. This is just for the punk vibe, okay!
Haha! That's all for this makeup share.
