People with Cold Bodies Are Prone to Cancer

Individuals with a cold constitution typically have weakened immunity and sluggish blood circulation, which can lead to stagnation—both factors contributing to cancer. How can one transform a cold constitution?
Two primary reasons exist: First, those with a cold constitution often possess low immunity, unable to effectively block external toxins or efficiently eliminate them, creating preconditions for tumor development.Second, individuals with a cold constitution generally have slower blood flow, making them prone to the "collusion" of blood stasis, phlegm-dampness, and qi stagnation. This "mutual entanglement of phlegm and stasis" accumulates in specific areas. Under prolonged exposure to pathogenic toxins, this can easily lead to tumor formation.
Traditional Chinese Medicine theory posits that a cold constitution arises from an excess of yin energy within the body. This impairs the digestion and absorption of nutrients, reducing the body's ability to absorb heat and resulting in a cold-like state. Individuals with this constitution often exhibit the following symptoms: cold hands and feet, aversion to cold, susceptibility to colds; fatigue, edema, pale lips, and a white tongue coating;loose stools and frequent diarrhea; pale urine, frequent urination, and large urine volume; poor appetite, and a lack of taste sensation when eating.
Clinical observations indicate that compared to individuals with other constitutions, poor lifestyle habits significantly increase the cancer risk for those with a cold constitution. For example, long-term smoking makes them more susceptible to lung cancer; neglecting drinking water hygiene and regularly consuming spoiled food increases the risk of stomach cancer. If individuals with a cold constitution experience prolonged stagnation of liver qi—such as bottling up anger, enduring high stress, or suffering from depression—men are more susceptible to nasopharyngeal cancer, kidney cancer, and liver cancer; women are more prone to breast cancer and cervical cancer.
People with a cold constitution can alleviate symptoms through diet, warmth, proper rest, and exercise.
First, dietary adjustments are crucial. Minimize consumption of raw or cold foods like bitter melon and pear, and avoid ice cream. In colder northern winters, incorporate warming foods such as beef and lamb; in milder southern climates, opt for mildly warming options like chicken and duck.Add layers promptly in cold weather to prevent "cold pathogens" from entering the body. Minimize time in damp, chilly environments and seek more sunlight.
Additionally, maintain a positive mindset, ensure adequate sleep daily, and avoid staying up late. When faced with unpleasant situations, find appropriate ways to vent emotions and communicate frequently with family and friends.
Finally, incorporate exercise. Aerobic activities like jogging or brisk walking activate the entire body, promote blood circulation, and help alleviate cold sensitivity. Consistent practice can gradually transform a cold constitution. However, avoid high-intensity workouts, as they may "disperse yang energy" and worsen cold sensitivity. Those with weak constitutions unsuitable for exercise can soak their feet daily in water around 40°C (104°F), submerging up to the knees for 20 minutes.Massaging the feet while soaking enhances the effect.
Additionally, cancer patients often develop yang deficiency due to tumors consuming substantial nutrients. They should focus on supplementing with protein- and vitamin-rich foods like milk and oranges; consume warming foods such as ginger tea; and minimize fried, grilled, raw, or cold foods.
After surgery, consume qi- and blood-nourishing foods like red dates and longan. To prevent constipation from bed rest, incorporate black sesame seeds, Chinese yam, honey, and fiber-rich green vegetables under medical guidance.
