Recent research by Houston Methodist Hospital indicates that for individuals seeking Botox injections, consuming dietary supplements rich in organic zinc and phytase prior to treatment can significantly enhance the efficacy of the injections.
To investigate whether dietary supplements enhance Botox efficacy, Dr. Charles Soparkar of Houston Methodist Hospital enrolled 44 cosmetic patients scheduled for Botox injections. These participants consumed supplements rich in organic zinc and phytase prior to treatment.
The study found that 41% of participants reported the supplements did enhance Botox injections. Among these individuals were patients seeking Botox treatment for blepharospasm, who noted that previous injections had produced minimal results. After taking the supplements, they observed significantly improved outcomes.
Dr. Soparkar's research team will present findings on dietary supplements' impact on Botox efficacy at the 41st Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, held October 14 in Chicago, USA.
