Facial wrinkles signal the onset of skin aging, causing significant psychological stress for beauty-conscious women. While numerous methods for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction have been explored with limited success, Botox injections offer a simple solution to help your skin effortlessly "turn back the clock."
Botox's wrinkle-reducing effects:
1. Forehead wrinkle treatment
Forehead wrinkles are horizontal lines. Typically, 10–12 injection points are administered across the forehead, with 2.5–5 units injected per point, totaling 25–60 units. Crucially, injection points must be positioned at least 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Injecting too low may cause eyelid drooping complications.
2. Injection Treatment for Glabellar Lines
Glabellar lines are vertical wrinkles caused by the frontalis muscle, corrugator supercilii muscle, and medial orbicularis oculi muscle. Treatment typically involves 4–5 injection points, each receiving 2.5–5 units, totaling 10–25 units. Injections should also be placed away from the brow to prevent eyelid ptosis complications.
3. Injection Treatment for Crow's Feet
Crow's feet are caused by the lateral orbicularis oculi muscle. Typically, 3 injection points are administered on each outer orbital area, totaling 6 points, with 2.5–5 units per point. When treating crow's feet, injection points must be symmetrical on both sides, and the dosage must be identical. Otherwise, uneven muscle relaxation may cause double vision.
4. Injection Treatment for Platysma Lines
Platysma lines, colloquially known as "turkey neck" due to their resemblance to a turkey's neck, commonly occur in older women. They appear as one or two long, vertical, cord-like striations on the anterior neck. Botulinum toxin injections relax the platysma muscle, causing the wrinkles to disappear.Typically, 5–6 injection points are administered below the chin and on the front of the neck, with 5 units injected at each point, totaling 25–30 units.
Who Should Avoid Botox Injections
While Botox is a common injectable cosmetic treatment, plastic surgeons emphasize it is not suitable for everyone. Who should avoid Botox injections?
Experts identify five categories of individuals unsuitable for Botox wrinkle reduction:
1. Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers;
2.Individuals with myasthenia gravis or multiple sclerosis;
3. Patients with ptosis (drooping eyelids);
4. Those who are extremely thin or have underlying heart, liver, kidney, or other organ diseases;
5. Individuals with allergic constitutions, etc.
Neglecting these precautions and administering botulinum toxin injections indiscriminately can cause unnecessary harm.
