Following comparative studies, the conference findings will be published in a renowned American clinical dermatology journal. Professor Scuderi and his team contributed scientific literature highlighting existing treatment efficacy and the safety of botulinum toxin therapy for glabellar wrinkles.
This research offers several compelling insights: First, the limited scientific literature thoroughly substantiates botulinum toxin's efficacy and safety, along with the number of approved formulations. Second, while minor side effects (headaches, localized swelling, bruising) are relatively common, they are temporary. More significant side effects, however, remain extremely difficult to reverse.
Comparisons of various botulinum toxins reveal that the most important formulations on the market are not interchangeable. "This means physicians must remember that different patients cannot receive identical dilutions and dosages. Before using different formulations, they must first understand who they are suitable for and what outcomes they will produce. Physicians must learn to use various products to ensure safe results," Professor Scuderi added.This study highlights another critical issue, Professor Scuderi emphasized: Some expired toxins remain approved for use, or are administered without authorization from local health authorities (such as the FDA). This constitutes scientific evidence of botulinum toxin's inherent safety risks.
Other types of toxins lack any regulatory approval for purchase via the internet or for therapeutic use in any country. The illegal use of these products must be considered unsafe.
