A razor is a household essential for every man—an indispensable fashion tool for gentlemen! Choosing the right razor is crucial, as men shave daily, making a suitable electric razor a necessity. So how should you maintain your razor with regular use?Let's take a look!
Charging Precautions
To maintain battery performance, use within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. When not in use for extended periods, remove dry batteries and store them separately to prevent leakage from damaging machine components. For rechargeable razors, ensure the switch is in the off position during charging. Unplug the charger immediately after charging is complete.
Rechargeable razor batteries self-discharge when stored long-term. If stored for over three months, recharge before use. Avoid charging continuously for more than two days, as this shortens battery life.
Regular Lubrication
Periodically apply a small amount of razor lubricant to the inner surface of the outer blade head. Some rotating parts, such as inner blade support shafts or motor spindles, may also require lubrication. Apply by placing a small drop of oil on your finger and coating the shaft, or using a cotton swab to apply a drop. Be careful not to use excessive oil. Turn off the power switch after use. To protect the blades, always attach the protective cover and store the razor in its case in a dry location. Do not clean with alcohol or other volatile chemical liquids.
Develop a habit of regular cleaning
The most common method for cleaning the blade head is rinsing with clean water. When rinsing with water, avoid getting the shaver body wet to prevent mechanical failure. If your product is a wet/dry model, still keep the base away from water to prevent motor damage.
Do not use with insufficient power
Avoid using an electric shaver with low battery power, as forced operation may damage the internal motor. Therefore, after two weeks of use, unscrew the head, remove the blades, brush away stubble, then apply half a drop of Tiger Balm to the head to kill mites.
Thoroughly cleanse your face before use; avoid shaving when heavily sweaty or covered in dust. Sweat, dirt, and facial oils on the head make cleaning more difficult.Failure to clean thoroughly may lead to rusting over time, shortening the blade head's lifespan and compromising hygiene.
After each shave, thoroughly cleanse the blade head and metal mesh of residual skin flakes, hair, and oil to prevent bacterial growth.Avoid blowing debris during cleaning, as this may force particles into moving parts and affect rotational speed. For waterproof razors, simply open the mesh cover and rinse directly under warm water, ensuring the temperature is comfortable to the touch. For non-waterproof razors, gently dry-brush with a soft brush instead of washing, preventing water ingress into the motor or battery compartment.
When storing for extended periods, remove dry batteries to prevent leakage damage. For rechargeable razors, ensure the switch is in the "OFF" position during charging and unplug immediately after charging completes. Avoid prolonged charging sessions, as this may shorten battery lifespan.
