Mangosteen is rich in hydroxycitric acid and xanthone. Hydroxycitric acid effectively inhibits fat synthesis, suppresses appetite, and reduces body weight. For enhanced weight loss, incorporating mangosteen into your diet or daily routine can yield twice the results with half the effort.Xanthones possess analgesic, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-mutagenic properties. Notably, they also exhibit antioxidant effects by neutralizing free radicals, offering significant protection for the cardiovascular system.
Fresh mangosteens split open easily when squeezed by hand. Overly hard mangosteens are dead fruit—unripe and inedible. When purchasing, gently press the fruit with your thumb. Avoid any that feel hard and unyielding.
Method One:
To eat mangosteen, carefully slice a ring-shaped groove around the fruit's waist with a knife. Lift the shell like a lid to remove one half, leaving the fruit intact and your hands clean.
Method Two:
1. First, remove the leaves from the mangosteen.
2.For some mangosteens where the top flesh is exposed after removing leaves, use a knife to slice along the seam between two flesh segments. This cuts the peel open for easy removal. For those without exposed flesh, gently slice along one side. Be careful not to cut into the flesh. How to gauge this? Don't worry—fresh mangosteen skin has a distinct feel when sliced.
3. Then pry open the peel from the cut edge.
4. Finally, scoop out the entire flesh. Be careful not to let the flesh touch the purple juice from the peel while scooping, as it will impart a bitter taste.
