Autumn's dry conditions cause skin moisture to evaporate easily. Beyond choosing suitable skincare products for external use, internal hydration through drinking water is equally vital. The concept of drinking eight glasses of water daily for health is widely recognized. Beyond adequate hydration, proper drinking methods matter. Experts suggest sipping water frequently in small amounts for optimal nourishment. However, juices and other beverages cannot replace water, as their high sugar content may harm skin when consumed excessively. Additionally, drinking a glass of warm water in the morning quickly replenishes fluids lost overnight.
Warm Water Facial Cleansing
Experts note that water that is too cold or too hot can be detrimental to the skin. The ideal water temperature is around 34°C (93°F)—slightly above skin temperature but below body temperature. This warm water effectively cleanses the skin while providing a soothing effect, promoting relaxation and relieving fatigue without causing harm.Alternating warm and cold water is another skin-beautifying cleansing method. It causes superficial blood vessels to expand and contract, enhancing skin respiration and promoting facial blood circulation.Method: First, place a sheet mask in a clean small dish and pour in sufficient toner. The mask will absorb the liquid and gradually unfold. Once fully saturated, refrigerate the dish for about 8 minutes. Remove the dish, unfold the chilled mask, and apply it to your face. Lie down and enjoy the cooling sensation for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the mask and gently pat any remaining toner into your skin until fully absorbed. Apply a Moisturizing Lotion After the toner mask, choose a hydrating serum or a rich moisturizing cream. Apply it evenly with upward strokes while massaging. This helps lift the skin while locking in moisture, maintaining long-lasting hydration and nourishment.Choosing the right moisturizing lotion is crucial here. Ideally, opt for a multi-functional moisturizer that combines toner, lotion, and essence in one. This type of product not only provides long-lasting hydration but also helps skin appear brighter, smoother, and more radiant—and it can even skip the toner step altogether!
Hot Compress
After cleansing, place a towel soaked in hot water over your face and gently press it against your skin, ensuring it adheres closely to your face and eye area. Remove after 30 seconds. This boosts facial blood circulation, accelerates metabolism, and prepares your skin for hydration and moisturization.
Pre-Sleep Foot Soak
A simple foot soak is actually a relaxing beauty ritual. Nurturing your feet not only beautifies the skin but also regulates blood flow, relieves fatigue, promotes sleep, and delays aging. Before bed, soak your feet in warm water for about 15 minutes, ensuring the water covers your ankles. Avoid excessively hot water—around 45°C (113°F) is ideal.Add a few drops of vinegar or lavender essential oil to the water for a calming effect. After the warm soak, apply moisturizing lotion to your feet and massage it thoroughly into your toes, soles, and tops with your hands to ensure absorption.
