In daily life, household hygiene is often the most troublesome issue, especially in the kitchen. Grease, limescale, rust stains, and other grime can be a headache just to look at. So how do you remove all these stubborn residues from your kitchen?
Method for removing limescale from sinks:
After prolonged use, aluminum or ceramic sinks accumulate hard limescale along the edges, which is difficult to remove. The solution is to place the sink in a large steamer and steam it briefly. The steam will loosen the residue, making it easy to wipe away.
Removing Lead Toxins from Ceramic Tableware:
Do not use newly purchased ceramic tableware immediately. Instead, soak it in a 4% salt-vinegar solution and boil it. This process removes most lead toxins and other harmful substances.
Gas or liquefied petroleum gas stoves easily accumulate grease. Using alkaline water risks stripping paint, while plain water fails to clean thoroughly. Apply thick rice water to the stove surface. Once dried, the rice water forms a crust that binds grease particles together. Gently scrape with a metal spatula to remove the grease along with the crust.Alternatively, washing directly with diluted rice water or noodle broth, or scrubbing with cuttlefish bone, also yields good results.Afterwards, shake the container vigorously to dislodge the scale naturally, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. This method is particularly effective for removing scale from thermos bottles.
For wooden utensils and similar items stained with grease, add an appropriate amount of vinegar to clean water for wiping. This also removes grease effectively. Another method involves soaking items in a bleach solution before wiping, which yields excellent cleaning results.
Smart Faucet Cleaning: Dip a dry cloth in a small amount of flour or cigarette ash to wipe the faucet. Follow with a damp cloth, then finish with a dry cloth. This method restores shine without damaging the metal surface.
Apply a solution of kerosene and cooking oil mixed 2:1 to the faucet. After several hours, wipe it off to remove rust stains.
Smart Rust Removal for New Iron Pots: Fill a new iron pot with water, add 100 grams of alum, and boil for one hour. Scrub clean, discard the water, then dry the pot over heat until hot to the touch. While still warm, coat the entire interior and exterior with cooking oil. Let cool before use.
Tip for removing burnt residue from frying pans: Add a small amount of water to the pan and bring to a boil. Add a small amount of dish soap, let sit overnight, then scrub. The residue will come off easily. After scrubbing clean, coat the pan with oil to prevent rust.
How to Clean Yellow Stains on White Kitchen Tiles: For yellow stains on white kitchen tiles, dip a soft cloth in a small amount of salt and wipe the affected area once or twice daily. After two to three days of consistent cleaning, wipe several times with a damp cloth to restore the tiles to their original whiteness.
