1. Both hazy and mysterious: As children enter adolescence, rapid physical changes and emerging instincts cause sudden interest, attraction, and admiration toward the opposite sex.yet this represents only the budding of sexual awareness. To adults, it appears veiled in a hazy mist. Before puberty, many children possess limited knowledge about sexuality, fostering an aura of mystery around it. They feel drawn to the opposite sex, and within this hazy, mysterious consciousness, psychological shifts occur. Sexual awareness gradually intensifies and matures.
2. Both intense and restrained: Due to the psychological conflict adolescents experience regarding sexuality, they simultaneously seek to understand its mysteries while instinctively shutting themselves off for various reasons. This leads them to consciously suppress their sexual feelings on the surface. On one hand, they place great importance on the impression and evaluation they make on the opposite sex. On the other hand, they appear reserved, shy, and aloof toward the opposite sex. Although they are internally interested in the opposite sex, they outwardly appear indifferent and dismissive. This contradictory psychology often causes them various psychological conflicts and distress.
3. Turbulent and Repressed: Adolescents possess intense sexual energy, yet their psychological maturity is insufficient. They lack stable, sound sexual ethics and views on romance, coupled with poor self-control that makes them susceptible to external influences. In reality, diverse temptations, sexual information, obscene publications, and ideas of sexual freedom can reinforce and distort adolescents' sexual awareness. This may lure them into romantic entanglements, sexual relations, or even sexual offenses. Some adolescents may also develop distorted or deviant behaviors—such as homosexuality, voyeurism, or fetishism—due to excessive suppression of sexual energy without proper outlets. In feelings toward the opposite sex, boys generally express themselves more overtly and intensely, while girls tend to be more reserved and profound. Internally, boys often experience curiosity, joy, and mystery, whereas girls may feel panic, shyness, and confusion. In terms of expression, boys are typically more proactive, while girls often resort to subtle hints.
