Recently, MedicalDaily reported that Botox injections can effectively treat acne, though this therapy is not suitable for adolescents.
While few doctors currently use Botox for acne treatment, a Chicago plastic surgeon strongly believes in this approach and published related clinical research in the Journal of Dermatological Drugs.
A plastic surgeon in Illinois, USA, shares through personal practice that Botox not only reduces wrinkles by inhibiting muscle contraction but also treats excessive oil secretion and enlarged pores, effectively controlling acne outbreaks.
The doctor further notes he has only administered this treatment to patients over 20 years old.Botox injections for acne are not suitable for individuals in their teenage years. He explained: "Hormonal changes in people over 20 are relatively stable, making Botox injections the safest and most effective acne treatment for them."
For those troubled by acne, Botox may offer a new treatment option. However, it's important to note that acne treatment is not part of Botox's approved clinical indications. Currently, very few doctors in China advocate using Botox for acne, so it's advisable for those considering it to consult a physician thoroughly before making a decision.
