Back when I visited my hometown, the worst questions were always about my salary and whether I had a boyfriend. After years of practice, I finally felt confident enough to brush off those topics—only to discover people had moved on. Now the questions are: "Why have you gained so much weight?" and "If you keep getting fatter, you'll never get married!"
How did the conversation shift so abruptly? Alright, alright—I've noticed lately that I'm not as agile as I used to be. It's time to consider losing weight, so various diet plans and methods have been put into action. After a month of practical effort, I've gone from 55kg to 50kg. Here's what I've learned.
Morning is the best time for weight loss. Utilizing this window can help you slim down quickly. Upon waking, your body is in a fasted state, making it more efficient at burning fat. Metabolism is at its lowest point in the morning. If you can boost it then, your metabolic rate stays elevated throughout the day, significantly enhancing fat-burning capacity.
1. Leg Lifts
Upon waking, lie in bed with arms extended naturally, palms down. Bend your knees, then forcefully push them upward. Repeat this motion 10 times daily after waking.
2. Stretching
Perform simple stretches on an empty stomach after waking. This promotes greater fat and calorie burning, highly effective for weight loss, and also boosts metabolic rate.
3. Prepare Your Own Breakfast
Breakfasts eaten out tend to be high in calories. If time permits, prepare your own breakfast. If you tolerate milk well, consider having a glass of milk with a sandwich.
4. Eat Breakfast
Besides exercise, breakfast is equally crucial for boosting metabolism. Opt for a moderately nutritious breakfast to enhance metabolic rate and prevent overeating later due to skipping breakfast.
5. Morning Run
Wake up an hour early, have a light snack, then engage in aerobic exercise like running or yoga. Moderate physical activity can set a positive mood for the entire day. Remember to stretch before running—stretching not only prevents calf muscle bulk but also helps your body warm up effectively.
As we know, the body's energy sources are divided into stored energy and quick-release energy. Only when your quick-release energy is depleted does your body begin to burn stored energy. Without proper stretching beforehand, you might find yourself exhausted from running before your fat stores start to burn.
Effectively utilizing this precious morning time can make your weight loss efforts twice as effective with half the effort. Besides mornings, evenings are also crucial. Since evening activity levels are typically lower, try to eat less to prevent unused calories from turning into fat stored in your body.
