After opening sleepy eyes in the morning, many people habitually rub their eyelids with the back of their hand, which helps clear the mind. But that's not enough—after rubbing your eyes, try massaging your face with your hands.Begin by using both middle fingers to rub the "Yingxiang" acupoints beside each nostril several times. Then move upward to the forehead, before spreading outward along both cheeks and rubbing downward to meet at the chin. Repeat this facial massage 20 times to enhance blood circulation, boost skin resistance to wind and cold, and invigorate the mind to prevent colds.Over time, this practice also reduces facial wrinkles and helps maintain a youthful appearance. Eye Rotation: Rotate your eyeballs slowly and steadily. Begin by moving them left and right, then up and down, repeating each direction over ten times. This enhances the flexibility of the optic nerves, improves vision, and reduces eye ailments.
Teeth Tapping:
Gently close your lips and tap your upper and lower teeth together 36 times. Between sets, rotate your tongue and lick the roof of your mouth several times. This promotes blood circulation in the mouth, teeth, gums, and jaw, increases saliva secretion, and helps remove plaque, strengthen teeth against decay, and improve chewing function.
Abdominal Expansion:
Lie flat with legs extended and perform deep abdominal breathing. During inhalation, forcefully expand the abdomen upward; during exhalation, relax downward. Repeating this expansion over ten times strengthens abdominal muscle elasticity and power, prevents abdominal wall muscle laxity and fat accumulation, and enhances gastrointestinal digestive and absorptive functions.
Anal Sphincter Contraction:
Concentrate on contracting the anal sphincter over ten times. This strengthens the anal sphincter muscles, improves blood circulation around the anus, and helps prevent rectal prolapse and hemorrhoids.
Combing the Scalp:
Sit on the bed and use your fingers as a comb. Comb from the forehead to the back of the head, and from both temples to the crown, repeating this finger-combing motion dozens of times. This improves blood and nutrient supply to the hair roots, reduces hair loss and graying, promotes lustrous hair, refreshes the mind, and helps lower blood pressure.
Tapping the Skull:
Sit on the bed, pressing both palms firmly against the sides of your ears. Gently tap the back of your skull with your fingers until you hear a dull thud. Tapping three or four times each morning helps relieve fatigue, prevent dizziness, strengthen hearing, and treat tinnitus.
Cat Stretch:
Lie prone on the bed, spread your arms wide, extend and close your legs, lift your hips, and arch your back forcefully like a cat arching its spine. Then lower your raised hips. Repeat this motion a dozen times. This exercise strengthens the muscles and joints of the waist, back, and limbs, promotes smooth circulation of qi and blood throughout the body, and helps prevent and alleviate backaches and stiffness.
