1. Hot water thoroughly cleanses the face and feels comfortable even in winter.
Frequent washing with very hot water strips the skin's protective barrier. Warm water is ideal for cleansing. When boiled water cools naturally to 20°C–25°C, dissolved gases reduce by about half compared to boiling temperature. This water quality closely matches the moisture within skin cells, allowing better penetration.
Your skin naturally produces sebum and sweat through glands, forming a slightly acidic protective barrier with potent antibacterial and skin-nourishing properties. Alkaline cleansers disrupt this barrier and stimulate sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Therefore, men are advised to generally choose mild, gentle cleansers.
3. Using a towel is the only way to clean your face thoroughly.
Towel loops are dozens to hundreds of times larger than pores, making it difficult to penetrate deeply and remove trapped dirt and oil. Towels that remain damp for extended periods foster microbial growth, so washing or drying your face with a wet towel is akin to spreading bacteria across your skin. It's best to use soft cleansing pads and air-dry them regularly for disinfection.
