Numerous allergens exist in daily life, leading to diverse causes and types of skin allergies. Below are the main categories of skin allergies.
Type 1: Neurodermatitis
Neurodermatitis is a common itchy skin condition in adults. Its onset is generally linked to psychological factors such as emotional distress, excessive work stress, worry, or anxiety. Intense itching is a defining characteristic. After scratching, the skin often thickens but remains sharply defined without scaling.Initially pale red, the affected areas may develop localized pigmentation over time. Common sites include the neck, behind the elbows, buttocks, and outer calves.
Type 2: Cosmetic Allergies
Certain ingredients in cosmetics can trigger skin allergies by irritating skin cells, causing them to produce antibodies and leading to allergic reactions. If skin allergies result from improper cosmetic use, do not arbitrarily apply ointments intended for general skin conditions. Doing so may cause skin roughness, pigmentation spots, and worsen the skin condition.
Type 3: Peach Blossom Rash
This is a type of skin allergic reaction where pale red, circular patches appear on the face, accompanied by itching and slight peeling. As it commonly occurs during the spring blossom season, it is called "Peach Blossom Rash."
Type 4: Seasonal Skin Sensitivity
Some individuals experience severe skin allergies during seasonal transitions, manifesting as dryness, itching, flaking, and red patches. This sensitivity relates to dry skin types and is influenced by environment, climate, age, diet, and cosmetics.Individuals prone to allergies should pay special attention to balanced nutrition, consuming more fruits and vegetables while minimizing intake of fish, shellfish, beef, lamb, greasy foods, sweets, and irritants.
Upon experiencing allergic symptoms, immediately discontinue all cosmetics and focus on observing and nurturing the skin. During this period, avoid washing your face with excessively hot water to prevent skin irritation, and ensure adequate sun protection.
