Bras are essential garments for women, serving not only to protect breast health but also to enhance body shape. However, improper use or incorrect wearing methods can turn them into "killers" that harm female breast health.
Attractive bras may trigger mastitis
Currently, the incidence of breast cancer caused by improper bra wearing has increased by 40%.The breast contains 15-20 main milk ducts, with 1-4 smaller ducts branching out beneath them across different areas. While underwire bras favored by women can lift the bust, their weight exerts prolonged pressure on the breasts. This compresses the inherently delicate breast tissue, potentially causing changes that may lead to pathological conditions over time.
Therefore, improper bra wearing poses serious risks to female breasts. Lace and nylon undergarments are particularly prone to inducing mastitis.
Fabrics blended with Lycra indeed appear significantly more uplifting. However, excessive lace and nylon fabric in direct contact with the skin can cause skin sensitivity. Tiny loose threads may even enter the nipple protrusions, becoming entangled and blocking milk ducts or lactiferous sinuses, leading to lactation disorders or mastitis. Symptoms include high fever, chills, localized breast hardening, skin redness and swelling, tenderness, throbbing pain, and occasionally pus discharge from the nipple.
So, how should bras be worn correctly?
First, avoid wearing bras for extended periods—no more than 8 hours daily—and never sleep in one. When not wearing a bra, perform chest-expanding exercises or raise your arms to promote blood circulation.During movement, bras constantly rub against nipples. Fibers from the bra can easily enter milk ducts through pores, potentially clogging ducts and nipples over time and triggering breast diseases. Third, choose a loose-fitting bra, ideally one size larger than your actual breast size. Wearing bras that are too small or tight for extended periods can impair local blood and lymphatic circulation, leading to various breast conditions.
Finally, choose bras suited to your age group. During puberty, avoid wearing bras if possible, as breast sagging is unlikely at this stage. It's recommended to start wearing bras after age 18. Women with larger breasts should opt for bras with wider shoulder straps. Narrow straps distribute weight unevenly, increasing strain on the shoulders and back. Over time, this can lead to back pain or breast sagging.Breastfeeding requires wearing a bra, as nursing causes breasts to swell and become prone to sagging. Wearing a bra is crucial for maintaining shape during this period. Fourth, after age 50, avoid bras with underwire or synthetic materials to prevent creating conditions conducive to breast diseases.
