Though small, the ear contains acupoints corresponding to nearly every organ in the body. Connected through meridian systems, it serves as a reflex zone for bodily organs.
Despite its size, the ear plays a significant role.Beyond their well-known role in hearing, which allows us to perceive the world, ears also serve as regulators of our body's balance. Healthy ears prevent us from experiencing that "world spinning" sensation of dizziness. Unfortunately, many people in daily life are unaware of how to properly care for their ears. The development of certain bad habits leaves our ears perpetually shrouded in the shadow of ear diseases and hearing impairments.
According to a 2021 World Health Organization report, 360 million people worldwide have hearing impairments, accounting for 5.3% of the global population. China alone has 9.49 million elderly individuals suffering from age-related hearing loss. As life expectancy increases and the population ages, the number of people with age-related hearing loss continues to rise. Hearing impairments severely impact these individuals' social interactions and quality of life.
Experts note that ear acupoints, much like those on the feet, offer health benefits through regular massage.
Ear Massage Technique:
Secure Wangbuluxing seeds with adhesive tape and apply them to the acupoints. Press each point for 1–5 minutes, gradually increasing pressure from light to firm until a sensation of swelling, numbness, or mild pain develops locally. Repeat 3–5 times daily.Change the dressing every 3 days in summer or weekly in winter, alternating between ears. Note: Before each application, disinfect the acupoint with 75% alcohol.
