Prolonged Sitting Accelerates Male Menopause Sedentary work is often unavoidable for certain professions, such as taxi drivers who spend most of their day sitting in vehicles with minimal movement. While some men never engage in exercise, prioritizing health is crucial. Chronic inactivity significantly increases the risk of premature male menopause. Maintaining physical well-being is essential.
Sedentary lifestyles deprive many men of physical activity, accelerating aging and hastening the onset of andropause. Typically, after turning 30, men experience a gradual decline in testosterone levels, averaging 1%–2% annually. Studies testing men aged 25–70 found that 70-year-olds possess only 10% of the testosterone levels seen in 25-year-olds.Between ages 40 and 90, men experience an average annual testosterone decline of 1% to 2%, resulting in a cumulative reduction of 30% to 50%. This indicates that men typically enter a "male menopause" around age 40. Research shows that individuals who are consistently sedentary are more likely than those engaged in regular physical labor to experience this menopause and its associated discomforts. Therefore, those with sedentary lifestyles should incorporate appropriate exercise.
