1. Using a towel cleans your face more thoroughly.
Towel loops are dozens to hundreds of times larger than pores, making it difficult to deeply cleanse trapped dirt and oil. Damp towels that remain wet for extended periods foster microbial growth, so washing or drying your face with a wet towel is akin to spreading bacteria across your skin. It's best to use soft cleansing cloths and air-dry them regularly for disinfection.
2. Hot water thoroughly cleanses the face and feels comfortable in winter.
Frequent use of very hot water strips the skin's protective barrier. Lukewarm water is ideal for cleansing. When boiled water cools naturally to 20°C–25°C, dissolved gases reduce by about half compared to boiling temperature. This water quality closely matches the moisture within skin cells, allowing easier penetration.
3. Only alkaline cleansers remove oil.
Skin naturally produces sebum and sweat through glands, forming a slightly acidic protective barrier with potent antibacterial and skin-nourishing properties. Alkaline cleansers disrupt this barrier and stimulate sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Therefore, men are advised to use mild, pH-balanced cleansers.
