In winter, dry air causes skin dehydration, slows metabolism, and reduces sebaceous and sweat gland secretion. This leads to dry, cracked skin and even noticeable fine lines around the eyes. Once wrinkles appear on the face, special attention must be paid to skincare and diet. Increase intake of vegetables and fruits, and moisturize dry skin morning and night with high-water-content, hydrating anti-wrinkle lotions.Additionally, drink sufficient water to maintain adequate hydration. If daily water intake falls below 1 to 2 liters, the face may appear wrinkled due to dehydration.
1. Reduce the frequency of washing your face with hot water to 1-2 times daily. Minimize use of strongly alkaline soaps.
2. Regularly massage facial skin to promote blood circulation. Apply a face mask 1-2 times weekly.
3. After cleansing, apply oil-based skincare products. For cracked skin on hands or feet, use a crack-healing ointment.
4. Drink plenty of water and consume fresh fruits and vegetables. Eat moderate amounts of fatty foods.
3. After washing, apply oil-based skincare products. For cracked hands or feet, use anti-crack ointment.
4. Increase water intake and consume fresh fruits and vegetables. Moderately eat chicken, fish, and meat to replenish fluids and nutrients.
5. Protect skin from cold air and wind by wearing appropriate cold-weather gear outdoors.
6. Adjust environmental humidity. Winter indoor heating and water heaters dry out workplaces and living spaces. Combined with reduced sweat and sebum production, this causes skin tightness and wrinkles. Artificial humidity is essential.Place a bowl of water near heaters or stoves, hang damp laundry, boil water on the stove, keep more plants, or set up an aquarium. These not only beautify your space but also help maintain humidity. For dry, cracked hands, wash with warm water at night and massage with a vitamin A and D-enriched cream.
7. Apply facial masks regularly. Like machinery, skin requires periodic maintenance to replenish moisture and nutrients, ensuring smoothness, radiance, and elasticity. Facial masks are an excellent method for this. You can make your own mask by mixing two tablespoons of starch with an appropriate amount of honey and milk, then adding the liquid from a few Vitamin A and E capsules. Apply to cleansed skin, leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off.
8. Adjust your skincare products. Due to low humidity and temperatures in winter, skincare products used in summer and fall are insufficient for warmth, cold protection, and skin hydration. Therefore, you must increase the amount of moisture, nutrients, and oils in your regimen.
For dry or normal skin types, after cleansing in the morning, quickly apply a nourishing toner or lotion followed by an oil-based moisturizer like mink oil or nourishing cream. In the evening, after cleansing, gently warm a small amount of animal-based oil such as cream and apply it lightly to the face. Massage for a few minutes, then blot with a tissue to avoid staining clothing.
