Injectable cosmetic procedures have gained popularity in recent years due to their convenience and non-surgical nature, with hyaluronic acid rhinoplasty being one of the most sought-after treatments. Although hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the human body, the risk of allergic reactions cannot be entirely ruled out. Recently, Ms. Zhang from Xi'an underwent hyaluronic acid rhinoplasty but experienced a severe allergic reaction that nearly disfigured her.
According to Ms. Zhang, she underwent both hyaluronic acid rhinoplasty and facial slimming injections at a medical aesthetic clinic last October. The day after the injections, she noticed discomfort in her nasal passages, followed by itching and a rash spreading from her nose across her face. Over the next few days, her symptoms worsened instead of improving.
In response to her condition, the clinic merely took her to a hospital for examination and suggested injecting hyaluronic acid dissolving agents. They offered no explanation or solution for the facial allergic reaction or nasal symptoms.
Over the past several months, Ms. Zhang has sought medical help and filed multiple complaints, yet her condition has not improved and the underlying issues remain unresolved.
Months later, Ms. Zhang still has numerous red rashes around her nose. A hospital diagnostic report states: "Viscous purulent secretions are visible in the nasal passages, and purulent secretions are visible in the nasopharynx."A doctor at the plastic surgery hospital where Ms. Zhang underwent treatment suggested her allergic reaction might not be related to the injection's quality. Instead, it could stem from her individual predisposition to allergies—a mere coincidence—and thus not the hospital's fault. Consequently, they stated they could not honor her request for compensation covering medical expenses and other costs.
