Mothers who feel their breasts have shrunk typically fall into one of two categories:
1. Those who gained significant weight during pregnancy, causing their breasts to stretch considerably. For these mothers, especially if they are older, the body's ability to recover is weaker, and skin elasticity is poorer. Once they fully slim down postpartum, the likelihood of sagging increases, making the breasts appear smaller.
2. Postpartum weight loss achieved rapidly over a short period. When overly stretched breasts shrink quickly, skin laxity becomes common, inevitably leading to aging and sagging.
How to prevent breast size reduction?
1. Weaning considerations:
To avoid breast shrinkage, weaning requires careful approach.Generally, avoid medications or injections, as these can cause rapid breast shrinkage, leading to atrophy, collapse, skin laxity, and loss of elasticity. Instead, use foods that inhibit milk production, such as leeks, malt water, or ginseng, to achieve weaning. Alternatively, gradually reduce the frequency and amount of breastfeeding to achieve the same effect.
Two massage techniques are recommended: First, before bed or upon waking, place the index, middle, and ring fingers of one hand on the opposite breast. Starting at the nipple, draw circles inward from the outer edge of the breast. Repeat 10 times on each side. This massage primarily promotes local blood circulation, enhances nutrient supply to the breasts, and stimulates estrogen secretion.Alternatively, during showers, use the showerhead to gently massage the breasts in circular motions with lukewarm water. This helps improve breast elasticity.
3. Push-ups:
Regularly performing push-ups and chest-expanding exercises builds strong chest muscles. This not only sculpts a toned physique but also enhances breast support, preventing sagging.
4. Resume Intimacy:
After childbirth, ensure adequate nutrition and sufficient sleep to avoid rapid weight loss. Resume sexual activity using contraception. Hormone therapy is generally not recommended, as estrogen may alter other organs while promoting breast development.
