Key Causes of Male Infertility

If a patient suffers from inflammatory conditions like urethritis, prostatitis, epididymitis, or orchitis, the blood-testis barrier can be compromised, triggering an immune response. This reaction produces anti-sperm antibodies. These antibodies can deactivate sperm, leading to oligospermia or azoospermia, preventing sperm-egg union and resulting in infertility.
Sexual Dysfunction
Conditions like premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction may also cause infertility. In such cases, the penis cannot be inserted into the vagina to complete intercourse. Failure to ejaculate or retrograde ejaculation are significant causes of infertility.
Endocrine Dysfunction
Infertility patients often exhibit endocrine disorders. Abnormalities in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, along with hypothyroidism, can disrupt gonadotropin secretion. This impairs testicular function and leads to infertility.
Abnormal Development of Reproductive Organs
Abnormal development of reproductive organs can cause difficulty in penile insertion into the vagina, preventing semen from being ejaculated normally into the vagina and leading to infertility. Common examples include penile defects, micropenis, macropenis, and severe hypospadias. Additionally, abnormal testicular development can impair sperm production, resulting in infertility.
Genetic disorders
Genetic conditions such as congenital dysgenesis of the seminiferous tubules and mixed gonadal dysgenesis prevent spermatogenic cells from maturing into morphologically normal, viable spermatozoa. The etiology of these congenital disorders is complex, involving genetic factors, environmental influences, radiation exposure, chemical agents, endocrine imbalances, and early pregnancy rubella virus infection. These pathogenic factors primarily impact embryonic development during the first three months of pregnancy.
Infertility causes include immune dysfunction, endocrine disorders, and genetic diseases! Immune dysfunction is a major factor! Therefore, timely treatment of these causes is essential for curing infertility! Men shouldn't lose hope—stay positive and face it proactively!
