In today's efficiency-driven society, men bear immense pressure. When stress accumulates, they often notice their health deteriorating—feeling sluggish at work or even experiencing physical exhaustion. A healthy diet is essential for maintaining youth and vitality. Men should tailor their eating habits to their physical condition and characteristics to sustain both physical and mental well-being.
Deep-sea fish reduce stroke risk
The age at which men develop hyperlipidemia and stroke is gradually decreasing. Omega-3 fatty acids found in deep-sea fish can prevent blood clotting, reduce vascular constriction, and lower triglycerides, offering significant benefits for cardiovascular health. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends rotating between omega-3-rich fish like mackerel, saury, grouper, and salmon, ensuring at least two servings weekly.
Pair Pork with Legumes
Men often favor animal fats, which can overload the kidneys and increase risks of cardiovascular disease and malignant tumors. Even lean meats contain 28% invisible fat.
Therefore, men should adopt a lighter diet, particularly by reducing animal fats (fatty cuts, fried meats, organ meats) and total cooking oil intake (generally no more than 30 grams per day). Taking pork as an example, daily consumption should be limited to 100-150 grams.Additionally, pairing pork with legumes is advisable, as soy products contain abundant lecithin. This substance emulsifies plasma, reducing cholesterol and fat particle size to prevent atherosclerotic plaque formation.
Red Wine Prevents Arteriosclerosis
If alcohol consumption is unavoidable, opt for red wine. The antioxidant polyphenols in grape skins remain in the wine, lowering cardiovascular disease risk. Moreover, red wine enhances antioxidant effects and helps prevent atherosclerosis. Recent studies also indicate red wine may reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease in men. Generally, middle-aged men should limit daily consumption to 100–150 milliliters (about 2–3 liang). Avoid drinking on an empty stomach; pairing wine with meals is preferable. This boosts appetite, aids digestion, and reduces alcohol absorption.
Make Hydration a Priority
The human brain is 75% water, making it the first organ affected by dehydration. Insufficient hydration leads to fatigue and slowed reactions.Unfortunately, men often forget to drink water when busy. Replacing fluids with beverages or soups adds unnecessary calories, contributing to weight gain. Therefore, prioritize drinking water between meals. For example, pour 500 ml of water onto your desk upon arriving at the office, forcing yourself to drink whenever possible and finish it before lunch. Aim to consume at least 1200 ml of water daily—equivalent to two bottles of mineral water.
Only through sound, healthy lifestyle and dietary habits can men—already physically exhausted and mentally stressed—ease their overburdened minds and bodies, freeing themselves from this detrimental state.
