Which is better: facial liposuction or cheek fat pad removal? Facial liposuction has gained widespread popularity among beauty enthusiasts. Experts caution that every step in the facial liposuction process significantly impacts facial aesthetics, requiring careful consideration of the procedure.
Five steps of facial liposuction:
1. Marking
Before liposuction, gentian violet is used to mark areas of localized fat accumulation. Repeated palpation with fingers assesses fat thickness, with thicker areas receiving emphasized gentian violet marking.
2. Anesthesia
Local infiltration anesthesia is administered, typically using 0.1%-0.5% lidocaine saline solution. This is evenly injected subcutaneously through the incision into the liposuction area until the skin feels taut and firm.
3. Needle Insertion
For facial liposuction, entry points are typically selected below the earlobe, at the vermilion border of the lips, or at the midline of the chin. For double chin liposuction, the entry point is below the chin, leaving virtually no visible scar after recovery.A 2mm incision is made. A 2mm diameter round-tip cannula with side ports or a new-generation focused ultrasound-assisted liposuction device is used. A 50mL disposable syringe is attached to the cannula, which is inserted through the incision into the subcutaneous fat layer. The cannula is first advanced to its farthest point, and several subcutaneous tunnels are created without applying suction.
4. Liposuction
Pull the syringe plunger to create negative pressure. Perform radial, sawing-motion suction with back-and-forth strokes. Apply more pressure in areas with greater fat accumulation while ensuring uniform suction until the desired result is achieved.However, a subcutaneous fat layer approximately 5mm thick should be preserved. Typically, facial liposuction yields 10-30ml of fat from the cheeks, 5-30ml from the zygomatic region, and 20-35ml from the jawline.
5. Suturing and Bandaging
At the conclusion of facial liposuction, gently compress the skin to expel accumulated fluid. Close the incision with a single suture, then apply gauze and compression bandaging.
