Whitening vs. Sun Protection: The former can penetrate all barriers, causing skin darkening and sunburn, while the latter is one of the main culprits behind skin cancer.
Whitening vs. Sun Protection
In the Asian market, sunscreens primarily use SPF values to indicate protection against UVB rays, while PA is used to block UVA rays, with "+" symbols denoting defense strength. This helps prevent sun-damaged skin.
Sun protection products are merely the first step in summer whitening. Achieving flawless, fair skin isn't something that happens overnight. Beyond combating dark spots and blemishes, selecting suitable products and integrating whitening into every step of your daily skincare routine is essential.
Always purchase new sunscreen; never use leftover product from the previous year. Sunscreen's protective efficacy typically lasts only one year. Even if it hasn't expired, its effectiveness diminishes significantly.
Never skimp when applying sunscreen. For it to be effective, apply a layer at least 0.05 cm thick. Reapplication is equally crucial, as sweat can wash away sunscreen.
If your primer indicates corresponding protection levels—such as SPF 30 or PA++—you no longer need separate sunscreen, whether physical or chemical. However, if your primer lacks any UVA or UVB ratings, it means the manufacturer's zinc oxide and titanium dioxide content falls short of the claimed standards.
