If you understand the dangers of rice noodles, you'll realize how alarming they can be. Rice noodles served in eateries often contain excessive preservatives, which can cause nausea and vomiting when consumed frequently. Therefore, caution is advised when eating rice noodles. Below are the potential hazards of consuming them.
Many people now add "white powder" when making rice noodles. Long-term accumulation of this substance can cause aplastic anemia!
It's best to eat less!
They add alum, a coagulant. While it's not particularly harmful, excessive aluminum ion absorption is detrimental to the body, especially affecting intelligence. Therefore, it's advisable to eat less!
Occasional consumption is generally fine. Rumors about rice noodles containing plasticizer-like substances have circulated for years, and their production process is reportedly unsanitary—making regular intake inadvisable. Truthfully, many foods contain additives that simply go unreported. I can only advise minimizing intake, though we can't survive without eating.
"Black-Hearted Rice Noodles" Increase Cancer Risk
Regarding the effects of additives used by unscrupulous manufacturers in rice noodle production, Liu Junlong, a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology, stated that it's difficult to determine whether "One Drop Fragrance" is a counterfeit product based solely on its ingredients. However, this "One Drop Fragrance" can indeed be produced through chemical synthesis or using inferior flavoring oils.Ingesting chemically synthesized substances poses significant health risks to humans, and long-term consumption may even cause cancer.
Additionally, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate, commonly known as "Diao Bai Kuai," is an industrial bleaching agent frequently added illegally to foods like dried bean curd sticks, vermicelli, and flour. Its purpose is to whiten, preserve, and enhance texture. Long-term consumption can lead to symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, loss of appetite, and vision impairment.Boric acid, another common chemical raw material primarily used in detergent and soap production, is also added to foods to enhance texture. Long-term consumption can cause fever, shock, cyanosis, headaches, dizziness, coma, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, bloody stools, and abdominal pain. "These additives offer no nutritional value whatsoever and only increase health risks,"Liu Junlong stated.
Eating Rice Noodles Equals Eating "Plastic"
It is understood that sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate and boric acid are both industrial raw materials. Their chemical composition is strikingly similar to that of "synthetic plastic," making them additives explicitly banned from food by national regulations. Shockingly, an industry rumor circulates that "one bowl of rice noodles equals six plastic bags."
Rice noodles themselves have no nutritional value, but the chicken broth, meat, and vegetables in them do. So if you want to eat some, go ahead, but eating it every day probably isn't good.I personally love chicken broth rice noodles—the soup, vegetables, and noodles, topped with vinegar and chili sauce, are incredibly satisfying. Unfortunately, there's no place near my home that serves them. To get there, I'd have to take five bus stops, especially in the dead of winter, so I don't go often. Maybe once a week or every ten days.
Friends who love rice noodles, after reading about their potential risks above, are you surprised? Didn't expect it, did you? Rice noodles contain so many substances harmful to the human body. Therefore, everyone should try to eat them less often to ensure your health. Hope this helps you.
