Eyebrow transplantation primarily involves transplanting hair follicles from the occipital region (back of the head) to the eyebrow area according to natural hair growth patterns. The specific steps are as follows:
① The patient sits upright while the eyebrow position, length, and shape are marked.
② The surgical area and surrounding tissues are disinfected.
③ Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is typically used.
④ Preparation of scalp graft units: A 3cm×1cm scalp strip is harvested from a suitable occipital site. The incision is closed directly. Using a surgical magnifier, follicular units are dissected based on natural hair distribution patterns.
⑤ Preparation of hair follicle units: Each follicular unit is separated into individual hair follicles or very small grafts.
④ Preparation of scalp graft units: A 3cm × 1cm scalp strip is harvested from the occipital region. The incision is closed with direct suturing. Using a surgical loupe, natural graft units containing 2-4 hair follicles each are created based on follicular distribution.
⑤ Recipient site preparation: Make small incisions in the recipient area using an appropriate needle gauge, reaching the muscle layer. Spacing between incisions is typically 1-2mm.
