1. Total Eyebrow Resection: Primarily indicated for cases where repeated eyebrow tattoo removal has caused scarring and sparse eyebrows. After tattooing, the color (typically light brown or dark blue) often appears as thick, dark lines across the brow ridge. When these colors persist after laser removal, complete eyebrow excision becomes necessary.
Currently, the procedure involves excising the eyebrow skin down to the superficial subcutaneous layer without damaging the deep supraorbital nerve or vascular bundles. Subcutaneous suturing uses imported absorbable sutures, while the skin incision is closed with adhesive tape. Postoperative scarring is extremely minimal, making this the most ideal eyebrow removal technique. Patients can apply makeup to the eyebrows 8 days after total eyebrow removal and undergo eyebrow tattooing again 1-3 months post-surgery.
2. Subbrow Resection: Suitable for individuals with overly high tattooed eyebrows or lax upper eyelid skin. This procedure involves creating an incision approximately 1mm below the eyebrow margin. The incision design and amount of excess skin removal are tailored to the desired eyebrow lowering and the degree of upper eyelid laxity.After excising excess skin, subcutaneous and dermal layers are sutured with imported absorbable sutures, while the skin surface is closed using adhesive bonding technology.
3. Brow Lift: Suitable for individuals with lax upper eyelid skin and normal brow structure/shape but positioned too low. The incision is designed 1mm above the brow margin. 1. Scalp Strip Eyebrow Transplantation: The traditional method involves harvesting a 4mm-wide scalp strip from behind the ear, trimming it into eyebrow shape, and surgically grafting it onto the patient's brow area.
Currently, grafts are predominantly taken from the unaffected side. Post-transplantation, the eyebrow texture more closely resembles natural hair.During surgery, subcutaneous fat from the harvested eyebrow graft is trimmed. The recipient site is incised from the skin down to the mid-muscle layer, where the hair follicles are implanted. To prevent ischemia and necrosis of the transplanted follicles, sutures must be shallow and tension-controlled. The graft must adhere closely to the surrounding tissue to ensure optimal survival.
2. Micro-grafting Eyebrow Technique: The recipient skin is not incised; instead, small grafts containing 37 hairs are inserted into the skin using micro-grafting needles. Advantages of this method include natural upward hair flow and direction, with a survival rate potentially reaching 100%. However, the procedure is relatively complex.
Additionally, the occipital region is commonly selected as the donor site, typically requiring 35-45 small grafts containing approximately 120-160 hairs. For female patients, the number of grafts may be reduced by about 10%.
