1. Eyebrow Tattooing: Suitable for congenital sparse eyebrows, asymmetrical eyebrow shapes, or partial eyebrow loss. Under local anesthesia, a tattoo ink matching the patient's skin tone is selected. Following a pre-designed eyebrow shape, the ink is applied into the skin using a tattoo machine. Advantages include simplicity and ease of execution, though close inspection may reveal a lack of three-dimensional texture.
2. Healthy Side Eyebrow Flap Transplantation: Suitable for unilateral eyebrow loss.Performed under local anesthesia. An arc-shaped incision is made at the affected site corresponding to the brow ridge. Subcutaneous dissection creates a wound bed matching the normal eyebrow width. The healthy eyebrow is divided into upper and lower sections, incised horizontally, then a parallel incision is made above the eyebrow. This forms a flap with the medial end as the pedicle, matching the width of the affected site wound bed. The flap is rotated and transplanted to the affected site wound bed.
3. Local Eyebrow Reconstruction: Suitable for minor eyebrow defects or displacement. Examples include V-Y plasty and Z-plasty. Performed under local anesthesia. As long as hair follicles remain intact during surgery, future eyebrow growth is unaffected. Apply local compression dressing for 5–7 days postoperatively; remove skin sutures after 10–14 days.
4. Crawling Flap Eyebrow Reconstruction: Suitable for defects not exceeding one-third of the eyebrow-nasal region. Performed under local anesthesia. Using the lateral one-third of the nose as the pedicle, incise the temporal two-thirds of the eyebrow area to bring the temporal one-third adjacent to the nasal one-third, temporarily forming a fold in the middle one-third.After 3 weeks, use the temporal third as a pedicle to flatten the fold, transpose it medially toward the nasal side, and suture. If both sides have less than one-third nasal-side defects, bilateral procedures may be performed simultaneously.
