Is 30 or 50 better?
The ideal number of daily push-ups depends entirely on the exerciser's needs. Excessive volume can be counterproductive, while too few won't yield results. Experts suggest 30 push-ups as a general baseline, which can be adjusted based on personal goals—but avoid forcing yourself to increase.
A recent American study reveals that regular strength training—such as weightlifting and push-ups—not only builds bones and muscles but also improves vascular elasticity, increases blood flow to the limbs, and lowers blood pressure, significantly benefiting cardiovascular health.
Dumbbells are highly suitable for strength training. Exercises are primarily performed in standing or seated positions, including front raises, lateral raises, and curls to strengthen upper body, shoulder, and chest muscles. Compared to dumbbells, push-ups offer a simpler and more convenient training method. The standard form involves positioning oneself face-down on the ground or a mat, supporting the body on the balls of the feet with the body straight. Hands should be placed slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Using arm strength, bend and straighten the elbows to lower and raise the body. Perform multiple sets of approximately 12–15 repetitions each, adjusting the number based on personal capacity.
For individuals with existing cardiovascular conditions or older adults, 2–3 weekly sessions are recommended. Avoid prolonged head-down positions, breath-holding, squatting, or bending over. Never hold your breath while exerting force, as this can cause sudden increases in cardiac output and blood pressure, potentially leading to cerebrovascular accidents.
Standard push-ups are not recommended. Instead, opt for elevated push-ups against a wall: Stand facing the wall with feet shoulder-width apart, arms extended at shoulder height. Place palms flat against the wall and perform elbow flexion and extension movements. Closely monitor your body during training. If chest pain or shortness of breath occurs, stop immediately and consult a doctor.
15 Push-Ups Daily to Enhance Sexual Function:
For men, push-ups are the preferred exercise to boost sexual performance. Completing a push-up requires coordinated effort from muscle groups in the arms, chest, abdomen, glutes, and legs—exactly the muscles engaged during sexual activity. Therefore, men with strong push-up ability demonstrate superior stamina, more powerful movements, and greater endurance during missionary position intercourse.
