Three Extraction Methods for Hyaluronic Acid Used in Rhinoplasty

Many opt for hyaluronic acid rhinoplasty, whose outcomes largely depend on production processes and technology. Generally, three methods refine hyaluronic acid for nasal augmentation:
1. Microbial Fermentation: Fermented using glucose as a carbon source. After 48 hours in culture medium, mycelium and impurities are filtered out. Simple operations like alcohol precipitation yield high-purity products.
2. Animal tissue: Primary sources include chicken combs and bovine vitreous humor. Materials undergo degreasing and dehydration with acetone or ethanol, followed by soaking in distilled water and filtration. Treatment with sodium chloride solution and chloroform solution is applied, then a mixture is obtained by adding trypsin and maintaining temperature. Finally, ion exchange agents are used for processing and purification to yield refined hyaluronic acid.
3. Chemical Synthesis: Employing natural enzyme polymerization reactions. First, synthesize "hyaluronic acid oxazepene derivatives" using polysaccharide polymers. Then, add hydrolase to create a derivative-enzyme complex. Finally, remove the enzyme from the reaction solution at 90°C to synthesize hyaluronic acid.
