Preoperative preparations for rhinoplasty are relatively extensive. What exactly are these preparations? As rhinoplasty gains widespread attention, experts outline the essential preoperative steps below.
1. Preoperative planning must be tailored to each patient's gender, facial structure, and existing nasal characteristics.Generally, aesthetic parameters should be referenced: the nasofacial angle should be 25–30°, the nasofrontal angle around 120°, and the nasolabial angle approximately 90°. The size, length, width, thickness, curvature, and arc of the silicone nasal implant, along with the depth of the groove where its base meets the nasal bone, must all be meticulously sculpted and adjusted based on the patient's specific anatomy.
2. Preoperative Preparation: Thoroughly disinfect the implant by washing with neutral soap, preferably rinsing with distilled water. Soak in a sterile container or sterilize via autoclave.
3. Surgical Technique: Perform procedures gently to minimize trauma and prevent hematoma formation. Employ meticulous suturing techniques during rhinoplasty. These constitute essential preoperative preparations.
4. The dissection cavity should be positioned at a deeper level to prevent implant instability post-surgery. Selecting a brownish implant can reduce excessive glare on the nasal bridge after surgery. If the nasal tip appears white or shows excessive tension after implant placement, the implant must be removed, adjusted, and reinserted. This step should not be taken lightly.
