Cosmetic enhancement is no longer something to shy away from. Women abroad, including those in South Korea and Japan, view it as commonplace. While this isn't meant to encourage you, it's simply a matter of treating it as ordinary. After all, the desire for beauty is human nature. If a minor, harmless change can bring you lifelong happiness, what's the harm?
Rhinoplasty is a common procedure in cosmetic surgery, and like any surgery, it demands attention. Yet many overlook post-operative care, which is crucial since swelling and redness often occur after rhinoplasty.
How to reduce swelling after rhinoplasty? Key considerations for post-operative swelling management:
1. Abstain from smoking and alcohol. Maintain a light diet, avoiding spicy or irritating foods.
2. Be gentle when washing your face and sleeping to avoid pressure on the surgical site.
3. Follow your doctor's guidance for appropriate swelling reduction measures on the surgical site. Never massage, squeeze, or apply heat to the area, as this can cause hematoma formation and hinder wound healing.
5. Days 2–3 after rhinoplasty: Although nasal and facial pain will largely subside, swelling will increase. Bruising may appear around the eyes, the nasal contour may be less defined, and in severe cases, conjunctival hemorrhage may occur.
6. Days 3–6 after rhinoplasty: Swelling generally begins to subside, bruising around the eyes gradually fades, and conjunctival hemorrhage resolves. However, pressure on the nasal tip and bridge may still cause discomfort.
7. Day 7 after Rhinoplasty: Swelling is largely gone, bruising has mostly faded, and the incision is healing well with minimal pain. However, the nasal contour remains less defined.
