Silicone breast implants represent one of the earliest medical augmentation methods. However, silicone implants have inherent limitations in pressure resistance. Significant impact or penetration by sharp objects may cause rupture, potentially altering breast shape.
2. Breast Capsular Contracture
This is a very common complication after breast augmentation. It primarily occurs when internal blood accumulation and fibrous tissue compress and encapsulate the implant. To address capsular contracture, surgical revision is required.
3. Breast Asymmetry
Breast asymmetry is another common complication after augmentation, often caused by misplacement of the implant.
4. Hematoma
During breast augmentation surgery, accidental damage to the delicate blood vessels in the chest can cause bleeding and swelling. Prompt treatment to address the source of bleeding and remove the hematoma is essential.
5. Unsatisfactory Appearance
If the medical institution, equipment, or surgeon's technical skills are subpar, the postoperative results may be unsatisfactory, leading to an unattractive breast appearance.
