Axillary Crease Incision
Axillary incision breast augmentation has been practiced in China for nearly two decades. Its concealed incision, aesthetically pleasing appearance, and natural feel have made it highly popular among patients.In nearly a thousand clinical cases involving women aged 20–54, the axillary crease incision yielded aesthetically pleasing results with natural-feeling breasts. Perareolar Incision
The incision is made along the vertical line of the nipple, positioned between the dark areola and surrounding skin. The nodular texture of the areolar sebaceous glands helps conceal the scar post-surgery. However, this approach makes placement of larger implants challenging and carries a higher risk of damaging milk ducts.
Retromammary Space
Located deep to the superficial thoracic fascia (enveloping the breast base) and superficial to the pectoralis major fascia, this loose connective tissue space causes minimal trauma. It yields natural breast position, appearance, and tactile sensation with ideal aesthetic outcomes. However, it carries a higher incidence of capsular contracture.
Subpectoral Space
Located between the pectoralis major and minor muscles, this muscular cavity provides an excellent bed for breast implants. Placing the implant in this space allows arm movement to massage the implant via the pectoralis major muscle, reducing the risk of capsular contracture.
