Everyone knows aloe vera helps clear acne. In fact, many aloe-based skincare products are available on the market. Personally, all my skincare products contain aloe. While its acne-fighting benefits are well-known, does aloe offer other advantages? How can aloe vera be used for weight loss?
Aloe vera gel is highly effective for soothing and eliminating acne. Additionally, ingesting aloe vera can cleanse the digestive system, and its pulp can be applied directly to the face as a mask. So, what other benefits does aloe vera offer? How to use aloe vera for acne?
Aloe vera is a succulent herbaceous plant in the lily family, native to Africa. Over 300 wild varieties have been documented. It's a perennial, fleshy herb containing abundant polysaccharides, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, active enzymes, and trace elements highly beneficial to human health.
Every part of aloe vera is valuable. Foods made with aloe vera offer a refreshing taste while clearing heat and detoxifying. Cosmetics and skincare products containing aloe vera provide natural beauty benefits. Aloe vera ointments promote tissue regeneration and relieve itching. Given its beauty benefits, how can we incorporate it into our daily routines?Split open an aloe leaf to expose the inner gel, which can be used for skincare. The complex polysaccharides within this gel are the primary beauty-enhancing components. Additionally, commercially available aloe juice is also used for cosmetic purposes. However, for busy urban dwellers, applying raw aloe directly is impractical. Moreover, there are many varieties of aloe vera, and not all are suitable for skincare. Below, we introduce using aloe vera gel for skincare.
Benefit 1: Moisturizing
The amino acids and complex polysaccharides in aloe vera provide excellent moisturizing and nourishing effects for the skin. The natural moisturizing factors in aloe replenish lost skin moisture, restore collagen fiber function, prevent facial wrinkles, and maintain smooth, supple, and elastic skin.
Benefit 2: Detoxification
Aloe rapidly and effectively cleanses and cares for toxins in the intestines and liver, as well as vascular waste.Additionally, aloe vera contains vitamins, various plant-based active ingredients, and minerals. Among these, aloe emodin and aloe-emodin effectively stimulate small intestinal peristalsis, expelling intestinal toxins. Only when toxins are eliminated can the skin achieve true health from the inside out.
Benefit Three: Oil Control and Acne Reduction
Acne typically develops on oily skin. Aloe vera balances skin composition, regulates oily skin, and achieves oil control while providing hydration.Furthermore, aloe vera's combination of kallikrein inhibitors and angiotensin can combat inflammation and eliminate inflamed acne, making aloe vera acne treatment highly popular today.
Benefit Four: Anti-Aging
Aloe's mucin (a protein) contains core polysaccharides like arboran, ABaloemannan, and aloetin. These mucin compounds are vital for preventing cellular aging and treating chronic allergies.
Benefit 5: Sun Protection
With aloe vera gel, you no longer need to buy separate sunscreen or primer. Aloe naturally offers excellent sun protection. Its natural anthraquinone glycosides or anthraquinone derivatives absorb UV rays, preventing skin redness and brown spots. So when going out, apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel and you'll have nothing to fear from the sun.
Benefit 6: Post-Sun Repair
Have you noticed that almost all post-sun repair skincare products contain aloe vera? That's because aloe vera can soothe and repair damaged skin. After sunburn, chill the aloe vera gel in the refrigerator for a while, then apply it generously over your entire face.
Benefit 7: Treating Allergies
When your face is allergic and you can't apply anything else, you can still use aloe vera gel because it is inherently anti-allergic.
So how exactly do you use aloe vera for acne? Apply it directly to your face? Below, we'll reveal the correct method—take a look!
Tip 1: Aloe Vera Acne Treatment—Dilute with Water
This is arguably the simplest and most effortless method for aloe vera skincare. Take the juiciest section from a fresh aloe vera leaf, remove the thorns and outer skin, then blend it in a juicer. Pour the juice into a clean bottle, seal it, and store in the refrigerator for later use.To use, mix equal parts aloe juice and mineral water. Transfer the mixture into a spray bottle—and voilà! You've crafted a dual-action spray that tightens pores and hydrates skin, with a shelf life of 3–5 days.
Tip 2: Aloe Vera Acne Treatment — Aloe & Lemon Toner
Ingredients: 1 small piece of aloe vera, 1/2 lemon, white wine (as needed)
Homemade Method:First, peel and finely chop the aloe vera and lemon. Place them in a bottle, pour in white wine, and store in the refrigerator for gradual use. This mixture can be preserved for about 20 days. The soothing aloe vera water, when chilled, provides gentle care for skin scorched by summer heat.
Tip 3: Aloe Vera Acne Treatment — Herbal Mask
Ingredients: 30g aloe vera, 10g each of astragalus and angelica root
Preparation: Peel and de-spine the aloe vera, retaining only the fleshy pulp.Grind Astragalus and Angelica into powder and mix together. Combine the aloe pulp with the herbal powder and a small amount of water to form a paste. Apply to cleansed face for about 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
