Near Hongxue Cave within Fujian's Fuding Taimu Mountain National Scenic Area and National Geopark grows a wild ancient tea tree—Lüxueya. This is the ancestor of Fuding Dabai tea, having endured centuries. As recorded in Lu Yancan's Qing Dynasty work Continuation of the Classic of Tea, citing Guangxingji: "Tea from Taimu Mountain in Funing Prefecture is called Lüxueya."To this day, legends of Lady Taimu healing the sick and saving lives circulate on Mount Taimu. Over a century ago, villagers from Fuding cultivated Fuding Dabai and Fuding Damao tea varieties from this ancient Green Snow Bud tree. The origins of Green Snow Bud can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty.Legend has it that General Xiong Mingyu once tasted Fuding white tea with scholars and literati. Observing the leaves' "white tinged with green, green flecked with white," they evoked "the purity of snow, the vitality of green, and the form of buds," thus naming it "Green Snow Bud."
The raw material for Lvxueya white tea primarily originates from Taimu Mountain in Fuding City, Fujian. Due to Taimu Mountain's year-round mist, significant day-night temperature variations, and unique soil characteristics, the tea trees endure greater challenges and undergo a longer period of nurturing by the geographical environment.Mr. Lin Youxi, founder of the Green Snow Bud brand, explains: "The ecological environment of a tea-growing region is intrinsically linked to the quality of its white tea. Superior soil conditions form the foundation for producing exceptional white tea." The soil in Green Snow Bud's ecological tea gardens consists of mountainous red-yellow soil formed from weathered volcanic rock, characterized by high fertility and rich biological accumulation within the soil layers. It is precisely through Tai Mu Mountain's unique geography, climate, soil conditions, and specialized processing techniques that Green Snow Bud achieves its distinctive quality.
It is evident that this exceptionally favorable natural environment yields such precious white tea, while the craftsmanship embodies countless generations of accumulated expertise alongside modern refinements and innovations. The tea's variety and production techniques are pivotal to controlling white tea quality.Over the past two decades, while preserving the ancient charcoal-fired baking method and the slow-drying technique of traditional roasted tea, Lüxueya has also continuously researched more advanced white tea production techniques and scientific technologies.
Responding to the timing of heaven, harnessing the advantages of the land, and enjoying the harmony of people.
In 2007, inspired by Pu'er tea, Mr. Lin Youxi sent white tea to Yunnan to experiment with producing white tea cakes. Launched in the market that same year, this marked the birth of "China's First White Tea Cake." Prior to this, white tea existed only as loose leaf tea, sold by weight like agricultural byproducts. The mold used to press the first white tea cake is still preserved in the "Green Snow Bud" Tea Museum, standing as a testament to history.
Present Day
The premium cake tea "Mountains and Seas in Harmony" is crafted from leaves sourced exclusively from the core Fuding white tea region—the Tai Mu Mountain white tea base. Every step, from origin to processing, is meticulously designed and executed with utmost dedication, resulting in a masterpiece among masterpieces.
The name "Mountain and Sea in Harmony" originates from the "Yong Ye" chapter of the Analects. Confucius said: "The wise delight in water, the benevolent delight in mountains. The wise are active, the benevolent are tranquil; the wise find joy, the benevolent find longevity." Why do "the wise delight in water, the benevolent delight in mountains"?It is said: "The wise understand the principles of affairs and flow freely without obstruction, resembling water, hence they delight in water. The benevolent find peace in righteousness and remain steadfast and unchanging, resembling mountains, hence they delight in mountains."Another interpretation suggests: "The wise delight in water"—the joy of the wise flows like water, observing all things with serenity and detachment. "The benevolent delight in mountains"—the joy of the benevolent stands firm like mountains, lofty and tranquil. This mirrors Zhu Xi's discussion in his Collected Commentaries on the Analects: "Without profound insight into benevolence and wisdom, such descriptions would be impossible." The sages embodied both wisdom and benevolence—and so do those who cherish tea. Green Snow Bud's "Mountain and Sea in Harmony" compressed white tea, crafted from 2015 harvests, embodies this philosophy: contemplating mountains and seas, embracing the cosmos—what greater joy could there be?Continuing to uphold Lvxueya's humanistic philosophy of "Truth, Goodness, and Beauty," this Mountain and Sea in View tea similarly combines premium ingredients with an accessible, healthy lifestyle approach. Crafted with meticulous care, it has garnered praise from many seasoned tea connoisseurs since its release.
Emerging from history, Green Snow Bud is not only the earliest white tea and the name of the white tea mother tree, but also a premium brand representing high-end quality in China's tea industry. "Mountain and Sea in One View," born from Green Snow Bud, carries its legacy of excellence. Each cup embodies health and reassurance, allowing one to sense the harmony and beauty of nature.
