During autumn and winter, dry skin often leads to foundation caking. Many beauties find themselves rushing to work with foundation that just won't sit right, leaving them flustered and unsure what to do. To save you precious time on foundation application and let you snuggle in bed a little longer, here are some handy tips for achieving a flawless base.
STEP 1: Prepare Skin with Moisturizer
After cleansing and toning to tighten pores, gently apply moisturizer to your face. Massage until fully absorbed. This creates a smooth base, allowing foundation to glide on seamlessly.
STEP 2: Apply foundation with a foundation brush
After picking up foundation, brush it a few times on the back of your hand to remove excess product and ensure even distribution. Dip the foundation brush into a thin layer of foundation, then gently sweep it across your entire face following the direction of your pores. Applying foundation along the pore lines helps achieve a lighter, more natural finish.Hold the brush flat against the skin, starting from the center of the face and working outward in a radial motion to cover the entire face.
STEP3: Set the foundation with a sponge puff for the first time
Before using the sponge puff, lightly mist it with toner and press it multiple times to enhance foundation adhesion. Avoid rubbing the sponge directly; instead, gently pat and press it vertically against the skin.
STEP4: Enhance dimension on the T-zone
Dip the foundation brush into foundation again, this time using a shade lighter than before. This creates dimensionality across the base makeup.Repeat circular motions over pores and fine lines to conceal imperfections without building thickness. STEP5: Second Setting with the Sponge Puff Continue using the toner-dampened sponge puff to gently press over the T-zone, further setting the makeup.
STEP6: Blend Face and Neck Color Transition
The eye area and sides of the nose tend to get oily, so use minimal foundation there. Apply any remaining foundation to the neck to create a natural color transition between face and neck.
